Your Handanovic logic is no different than my Bastoni logic. Handanovic loss' was substantial to us because Padelli had regressed to the point where he was no longer an adequate Serie A reserve keeper, hence why he is being relegated to a third keeper role this year. If we had a quality reserve, such as a Mattia Perin (or take your pick at someone else), then the loss of Handanovic for those two games (or an extended period of time) would not have hit anywhere near as hard as it did because our defense is generally strong.

But that's not what makes Handanovic our best player. Whereas with Lukaku you coul make that argument over the course of the season.

Lautaro scored 20+ as well, has a goal every 171 minutes while Lukaku obviously has a better rate at a goal per 123 minutes, but Lautaro scored 3 PKs and Lukaku had 8. If we subtract those, it becomes non-PK goal per 199 minutes for Lautaro and non-PK goal per 161 minutes for Lukaku. It's not that big of a difference. Of course a PK goal is a goal itself, but being a good PK scorer doesn't make you a better player over the course of a season, it just helps you build up a scoring record, something proven by Immobile and Cristiano. And Bruno Fernandes over in England.

Handa, De Vrij and Bastoni was crucial to us building from the back.
For me it has to either of those because of they way we play and how good they have been defensively and keeping cool with the ball so can actually controll possession.

Voted De Vrij

De Vrij for sure. Best defender of Italy for a reason. Also good idea, maybe we can arrange some prices for the winner. Like a nice Special Ones FIF badge for the best player and for the worst one, a turd

Handanovic for me, consistently a beast.

If he didn't get injured, it could have easily been Sensi as he had the perfect start to the season up until he got injured.

Top 2 candidates for me were Bastoni and Lukaku, but I opted for Lukaku because he was more decisive, which is no surprise him being a striker and all, but it is what it is.

Handanovic is the best post-treble Inter player. I feel guilty for not choosing him, so I had to say something.

Lukaku, De Vrij, Handa, D'ambrosio and Bastoni were the most consistent to me. Voted De vrij for being absolute boss.

I had many I wanted to vote on but I just had to vote for Lukaku because of how he came in taking over the position of Icardi and doing it better while also allowing other player around him to grow. How many penalties didn't this guy give away to Lautaro when he was in bad confidence? Or when Esposito came on and was allowed to take the penalty? Things like that make me shed tears. I haven't seen a striker do that so many times in one season AND he still managed to break records.

Not to forget all the fucking goals he scored.
