Neah, not if you consider we payed 15 for Mancini... But I don't believe we need to sign a defender this summer. If we do, Zapata is a very good option.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport , within few days there could be the meeting between Massimo Moratti and the chairman of Genoa, Enrico Preziosi, in order to trade Andrea Ranocchia.

Of Genoa property Ranocchia is playing in Bari, showing great performances. Probably the trade will be ended in the Summer, but Ranocchia can stay for another season in Genoa, even if he is betrothed to Inter.

Rumors speak about the worth of the trade: almost 10 million euros.

I know, so what?! That was an unique transfer coup, because Real Madrid needed to sell and cash in. They were desperate and we managed to convince Sneijder. It's not the same situation when a club is reluctant to sell, and you offer them a deal that they can't refuse [over the value of the player].

There has been rumors of this for a while so its likely that they are going to do this. Another rumor a few days ago said 10 million with him staying another seasona t genoa.

If he comes straight away one of chivu,cordoba or matrix has to go. I don't see that happening that's why the loan for another season makes sense to me.

I don't think,Materazzi is useless and old,the same goes with Cordoba. We need a strong and young player like Ranocchia,and this would be a great deal for us.

Well, it's undeniable Cordoba and Materazzi are club legends by now. But somehow this thing has to be solved and my belief is it will be solved. We really need the fresh blood to our backline and we need it now.

Materazzi is not useless, he acts as a father figure for younger players. Cordoba is not maybe as much like that but he's surely as respected as Matrix. Hard to say how they will deal with this.

I never said they are useless. But 6 players for 2 positions is too much. There won't be enough playing time for ranocchia. I am all for the deal but would prefer him to stay one more season on loan at genoa and return to inter when matrix retires. Unless one of the centre backs gets sold.

I don't know about others, but I said it's pretty expensive. Didn't say it's too much. Definitely would say 15-20m€ is too much for Kolarov though.
