it also means that we would pay the same amount if ibra was still here

But we would get much more than we are getting now IMHO. But OK, let's give him some more time to fit in, and then we'll see.

certainly a front trident of sneider ibra and milito is miles better than sneijder eto'o milito

but you have to keep in mind that we only got sneijder because our only creative outlet was sold, so we would have been playing stankovic or some other "decent" player in AMF like hleb that we get for a bargain

this is an argument i 100% do not believe...
sure, in PES or FM this may be the case, but in real life, i doubt it...

the problem with ibra @ inter, imo, was his ego..

do you guys already forget how he would be screaming at all our players to pass him the ball e.t.c.?
or when mario scored a tap-in goal at the end of the season, ibra screamed at him because ibra wanted to score so he could win top scorer?

i 100% do not think that mentality/ego would've changed, regardless of 'reinforcements'...

it has changed now because he is in a new team and new league, but at Inter, i doubt it would have changed

he was the big shot here and whoever came in would've had to "play for ibra", which certainly is not our new motto/style of play...

we don't "play for" milito, etoo, sneijder, pandev, balo e.t.c..
we "play for" whoever has the best opportunity...

so? if ibra stayed the whole team would be playing for him, mourinho made it no secret that will be our main tactic, and ibra sneijder and milito playing for ibra would be much more fearsome than eto'o sneijder and milito playing for the team because the former is much more unpredictable

why? in the current set up we have 1 passer and 2 finishers, with ibra we have 2 passers 2 finishers and a phisycal presence which can get on the end of crosses

ibra isn't selfish, he was our best assister for the past 2 or 3 seasons, eto'o and milito facing 4 defenders alone means we lose possession are at best win a corner, while if it were ibra there would be a MUCH bigger chance of us scoring

i agree...also the fact that most Inter players were introduced to a new level of vision and creativity in his movements on the field..they were all feeding of his vision and ability to set them up in space..

i cant really remember Ibra as being overly selfish either,as the assist stat that you mentioned is a true marker..

i can remember alot of players having to lift a notch because of Ibra's vision,
that also improved their play and confidence..

i cant remember the Mario incident, but i remember the Muntari incident and i did criticise his manner that game

i remember Ibra wanted to get subbed late on last term and Mourinho was begging him to stay on the field to catch up to Di Vaio .. that surely must say something about how selfish he was to get the award aswell

No, I wasn't being sarcastic for once. I really do agree with that message. I think as fans we shouldn't have hardline views when we don't know what's actually going on behind the scenes.
If that's the case my appologies.

Good to hear you understand my point of view :)

I already explained why Eto'o gets what he gets now. No one ever said that he is better than Milito or that ANY players deserves 10 million a year...BUT his salary was already close to 6 or 7 when he was at Barca, and if he were to have extended that deal he would have get nearly the same he would be getting with us. Keeping that in mind, when he was being sold, any club that would have got Eto'o woud have had to pay the 10 mill we are paying now, its not something that we are doing because we want to really. Last thing is that he is arguably still one of the best strikers in the world, won 2 CLs in which he scored in these 2 finals...he demnaded 10 mill and the club was willing to meet these demands. We havent rought him here for Serie A but we did mainly get him here for the CL and we will see what he does in the knockout stages, compared to Zlatan who did absolutely nothing.
That's exactly right.

Eto'o probably IS earning a little too much, but people fail to realise there was a reason why he got such a wage when he came here.

As long as we are hypothetical we can presume that the deal would go through because Barca reeeeally wanted Zlatan, and he reeeeally wanted to go therefore I believe the solution would be found in another way, by selling Eto'o to some other team (but I doubt it anyone would grant him such a salary) and using the money to pay off Ibra or whatever, there are millions of hypotheses.
See, you even admit it would be hard to sell Eto'o anywhere else, simply because there were no suitors. So isn't it more possible, that the whole deal wouldn't go through if Eto'o was not included in the deal ?

I think it is.

Look, I respect you as you always seem to try to understand things and then comment on them, but in this case you are hiding behind a silly argument that says "you don't know all of the facts so don't critisize"; it's just absurd man.
I'm not telling anybody what to do. I'm just trying to put more light into those "simple explanations", because to me there ain't no simple explanations when we talk about this stuff.

I'm not hiding behind that statement. I highlight it, because to me it is true statement, and if some people like to criticise, at least they should write posts with that DOUBT in the air, but instead you can see hardly see that happen from anybody criticising them. It's just "No it's too much, no it's too long" etc. etc.

Inter will not pay Eto'o that much if Ibra's salary is just 8 M.

He wants a same amount that Ibra earns because he has a bigger name and reputation than Ibra.
It doesn't mean he is a better player but that's more about his pride. Just like when Robinho got angry when Madrid want to trade him + money for Ronaldo

Eto'o is a direct replacement for Ibra and he doesn't want to be considered a downgrade for Inter's front.

I believe Eto'o will not ask that much if he went to other big club like ManU, Chelsea, Milan or Juve

Gago is not interesting.... i would rather stick with Motta every week...
Personally i would like to have Hamsik, but dont think its realistic.
Fabregas isn't realistic also..

Calderon just said Inter were very close to breaking the agreement Real Madrid had for Ronaldo last summer, in order for Inter to sign him, and ManU was happy to do that given the poor relationship they have with RM, but CR himself wanted to honor that agreement and eventually decided to go to RM anyway.

Oh man, how nice it would have been...add to that that Ibra would probably not had left if CR came...

And a player like him would be valued like 30 mils, which is way too much for him... :)

Only way we can get him is to do tapping really hard and persuade his mind so that he wants Inter and only Inter. De Laurentiis doesn't need money, he splashed ~50m€ last summer for players. He doesn't have a big salary budget in his team so that is a possible reason for their stars to leave. But in those cases De Laurentiis will wait for foreign clubs to make offers. His priority is not to sell, his priority is to keep the team and make it CL available, which is of course a bit dreaming because of the restricted salary policy. But I still say he's very reluctant to selling his stars to Italian clubs. It would take another dirty Chivu case to get Hamsik to Inter.

Who knows, Gago can be a new-Cambaisso here (or not, i dont know)

He is a Real-reject, that's sounds good in a CV at Inter :)
