Everton is an interesting team. They field 4-5 "rather AM" on the midfield and they can get results with it. (Arteta, russian guy, Donovan, etc.)

We played with 3 DM lots of times :)

Arteta is a CMF by the way. YOu wanna switch midfielders with Everton? No thanks :hat:

I think we need "CREATIVE" midfielders........we have just acquired a hard working Mariga, who has sjown potential to develop into a good box-to-box MF.

We need a READY CREATIVE midfielder, to start playing immediately, since we will have Coutinho ready in a couple of years!

Same here..

I watch EPL and i am impressed with him.. He is now injured and will be out for 6 months i think, but before the injury he did well for Everton, that's for sure...

Fellaini will just be another DM or CM, which we already have more than enough (Muntari, Cambiasso, Mariga, Motta). I don't see the point in getting him. I would prefer getting Arteta, if we're going to get any midfielders from Everton.

Just because we play 3 DMs rite now, does not mean we would like to play with 3DM even if we had an attack-minded CM who can attack. It is the lack of options which is stopping us from doing so.

I can very well imagine Sneijder playing in Stan's position and contributing to the attack, plus closing defenders and covering a lot of ground. His defensice skills (workrate, tackling, positional play) is good enough for him to play as a CM. In many ways he wud be better off coming from deep where he wont be picked up by the oppsition defense, if only we can have a decent playmaker ahead of him who will pull the defenders and create a space for Sneijder.

Sneijder always come very deep anyway even if he's playing as our AM, because our three DMs are too incompetent in making passes to the front.

I wouldn't say so since Fellaini is not a DM... He plays as CM who tends to go forward, something between CM and AM.. He is good at the defence, hard tackling, that is why ppl think he is DM... Another thing is, he can actually PASS, has great long passes... :)

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

fellaini will definitly add another dimension to our midfield, he can hold the ball in his feet with ease...isnt that what we are looking for... a midfielder that can hold the ball, pass the ball with good accuracy and support the attacking line with good composure.....:D
he even actually once play as a striker in everton...;)
in early days he play as an attacking midfielder so he definitly had some attacking minded in his head better than a pure DM as muntari, cambiasso and mariga...:boogy:

TBH, Fellaini would be another 'decent' squad player - may be a marginal improvement over Motta. I am not too hopeful about his longball passing abilities and all bcoz Serie A is not England where wingbacks leave acres of space behind them for opponent forwards to exploit. He is not the solution to our problems.

We are not being realistic with how much we can spend next summer, and how much Hamsik and Gourcuff would cost.

If you have peanuts, you will only entice monkeys. We need a big signing who will single handedly give a huge thrust to this midfield. As for money, recently there was anarticle that Inter was bidding for CR7 in the summer - I agree the bid might not have been a 80m bid, but then it wud not have been an insignificant one also. Just goes to show if there is quality talent available, Moratti and Branca do have the money to sign them.

Hamsik and Gourcuff are 2 realistic targets and well within our budget. frankly, if we can get those 2, we wud not be needing anyone else in the summer. Coutinho is also coming. We certainly do not need any defenders next season (plus Burdisso and Rivas to sell) or forwards - unless we sell Etoo - who can be adequately replaced by the cash generated from his sale.

Even if Hamsik costs 25m and Gourcuff 20m, I believe we should be easily pay that amount. I say throw in another 15m for Yaya Toure, and we are on the way to become th best in Europe and still dominate Italy by playing a more attractive brand of soccer.

An expense of around 50-55m is not too much for the best Italian club in one summer, assuming that we manage to sell a few of Burdisso / Rivas / Suazo / Jiminez / Mancini / Quaresma / Muntari.

Fellaini is the best midfielder in Everton, as his coach admitted. I also saw him play in his NT and he is a true leader ship. Getting the likes of Lampard and Gerrard as a proven players but only for a 1-2 years because they are old and already spend all their sperm with Chelsea and Liverpool, respectively. Also, their price tag is not cheap at all, for a couple of their service before they run out of sperm.

Fellani is leader type, very technical, box-to-box, good view, passing ability, proven to be able to play high speed EPL, can attack and defend. He is pretty young, has energy enough for more than 5 year. We can end up with him like with Ibra: well him with much higher price when he want to leave. I like him more than Gourcouf and Napoli's overrated Hamsik.

Having him in the squad, we have no problem with question like " where is Fellaini playing" because of his unique hair when we watching crap streaming.

Motta was the best midfielder of Genoa, Muntari was the best midfielder of Portsmouth and one of the better ones at Udinese, Quaresma was the show-stopper at Porto.

And frankly, I dunno how you can say Fellaini is better than Arteta at Everton.

As for price, Everton paid 12m for him 2 years back, and if they value him as highly as u think they do, then he wont come cheaper than 17-18m at least. Wont u rather buy Gourcuff for 20m? or Hamsik for another 2-3m more?

Those 2 blokes also have got serious years ahead of them.

As for the hair, there is arguments from my side to counter that. Its simply outrageous ;):D

I didn't say Fellaini and Motta were pure DMs. I mentioned that they were of the DM/CM moulds, which would make them box-to-box midfielder with the abilities to both defend and attack. And, I think we have enough of that in Inter, with the names I threw in. We need more creative sparks in our midfield, which I think even Sneijder doesn't fully provide.

Moreover, if you're talking about the best midfielder in Everton, then I will definitely have to say that it's Arteta. But even so, the best midfielder in Everton may not even be good enough for Inter.
Motta was the best midfielder of Genoa, Muntari was the best midfielder of Portsmouth and one of the better ones at Udinese, Quaresma was the show-stopper at Porto.
I think 1919 summed it up well here. Arteta/Fellaini may be the best midfielder in Everton, but he may not be good enough for Inter.

I just wanted to say the Fellaini should be one of our options in the summer.

Fellani is better that Hamsik and Gourcouff because he can defend and attack, box-to-box midfielder, I think if Mourinho has to choose between them, then Fellani will has a better chance.

You are right: a good player in small team may fail in big team. But the same thing can be happen to Hamsik and Gourcouff. And Hamsik choke already when playing against bigteams.

I like Fellani because he has strong mentality (leadership) and seem to be intelligent to adapt to big team. The way he rejected big teams before coming to Everton is one of the proof of his smart: instead of money, he selected team which provide playing time to develop.

I agree Fellaini is a midfield option, and yes, Fellaini will be a good addition to bolster our midfield, but ultimately, I still think he's more of a pure CM, and we already have Cambiasso, Mariga and Muntari covering that role. Fellaini may, arguably, be better than them, but I still think what we need is a creative offensive midfielder, which can create something from midfield when needed; something like a midfield Ibra. And I believe Hamsik or Gourcuff can provide this. So it's a matter of strengthening our weakest link (the creative midfielder), then improving our already decent midfield.

Just a final note, I watched Fellaini play against Liverpool two weeks ago, and I thought he was disgusting in that match. The fouls he commited were shameful really.

I prefer to see a primavera player instead Fellaini. Why? because Fellaini cost more than primvera player, and also Fellaini and also the primavera player wo'nt help in Champions league, only in the league.
