Song has gotten tactically murder in the EPL and big matches of Arsenal....I can't imagine what they would do to him in Serie A. He thinks he is an AM or Zidane or something and leaves his position too much. I haven't seen M'vila much other than a few minutes of a few different matches of France so I'm not in a position to compare the two but Alex Song is not the type of player for Serie A let alone Inter. Not that he's below our level, no, thats not what I'm saying, but he doesn't fit the way we play and the style of game he's going to face in Serie A.

That could be the case and to be honest we need all the quality we can get so its not like I'm gonna riot if we get Song. Its just that I have a few reservations as to how he would translate to Serie A and a more defensive oriented league because he shows a few inconsistencies in that regard with Arsenal.

Lars is better than Sven. He is better going forward, plays multiple positions in midfield, and has been one of the best mids in the bundesliga this season

Well I disagree, I think he will do something stupid and ruin his career. Players are more than just their raw talent on the pitch, everyone here should have learned that lesson from Zanetti. His arrest goes to show he is hot-headed, doesn't have patience, whereas I have seen no mentality issues with Song. Why do you think Royston Drenthe gets loaned out to random clubs every season by Real Madrid? He clearly has natural talent but is a total brainless idiot.

This is why I would take Song over M'Vila. Does he have more raw talent? Perhaps. But Song would be a more sensible choice.

To be fair, he's not comparing the players but their behavior.

I just don't know if there's a strong case against M'Villa. How have him behaved poorly?

Physically assaulting a teenager. He 'apparently' did the same to a restaurant owner a couple of years ago but wasn't charged with anything, this time however it appears it could go the distance. I would expect an out-of-court settlement to get this quickly swept under the carpet, regardless of whether M'Vila actually did it or not. I am not insinuating he definitely did it at all, but again it's a risk, if we sign him up and he's found guilty, what use will he be to us while in a jail cell? Might he do it again? I don't know...

I don't expect players to be saints but doing stuff like that is just sheer stupidity, there is no need for that & it causes unnecessary distractions.

Yes but the keyword here is field. He should keep it on the field. Other than that, he'd be just a mad person who happens to play football.


How much would Alex Song cost? If it's a reasonable price I wouldn't mind. Honestly, I'm never comfortable with the idea of buying a player from any weaker leagues for large sums of money.

You mean a player who scored more goals than most of our strikers in 5 months and won AC Milan 2-3 games with his goals, some coming in as a super sub? I don't see how it's a bad thing.

We can't chased hyped up players because we can't afford to spend freely!! Irrelevant of how good any suggested player is, we can't go after the players the press are always talking about, the agents lap it up and demand higher wages, the current club of the player laps it up and bumps up the price...

I realise Miguel Veloso isn't the name everyone is dying to hear as a new DM signing (I would certainly hope for more), but compromises need to be made. We should get rid of our share in Kucka and perhaps sign Veloso. Considering how often we seem to get players from Liguria, I wonder if Moratti gets mates rates from Preziosi nowadays?

I'd take Veloso and Kucka over Guarín if he costs over 10 million euros. Veloso could be a starter and Poli and Kucka would be very good for the bench or even playing if Cambiasso is out.
