Re: Oscar

I've never been a big fan of him. If he did somehow come here, it better be a loan w/ an option to buy.

I don't think he's as creative as people think he is and I feel that he wouldn't really reduce the burden on Jovetic/Ljajic to create. On the other hand, he could be an effective B2B player as Mancini loves players that track back, hustle, and defend (which Oscar does well at in my opinion).

With that said, I'd be more than happy to replace Guarin with him!

Yeah, never understood the hype. He looks decent player and pops up with goal and assist sometimes but his overall game is very meh. Very Un-Brazilian #10 if there was one.

Like you said, he looks good b2b player though.

who would we bench for him. I mean he is a great player and I'd love him here but that could F up our current locker room as he will become our top earner and we would have to bench someone who is doing very well.

This winter its more about getting rid of players then bringing in ones for me. We need to get rid of Vidic, Guarin, Rano thats at least 10 million euro just in wages. Hopefully Palacio as well.

I think our midfield is good enough to win the league already. We aren't playing in Europe like Napoli or Juve which is also a plus. We have youth players as well. I'd wait till the summer to bring in a top player that will help us in Champions then panic buy like normal and f up the flow of the team or the locker room. We need to be cautious.

I have posted many times saying that we should focus on selling and reducing wages instead of buying and adding more players into the mix for a starting 11. I guess I got carried away with how much people speculate on players to recruit here. Anyway, the only type of player I'm willing to get in Jan is someone (as many have said) who is a sure upgrade and I believe Oscar is, he can (whisper it) make through balls! He's not only a no.10 but he could also play on the wing and is not as weak as you'd think of him on the ball because of his thin body, he's quite capable of holding the ball actually. Plus he tracks back like Berkamp said, always a plus for Mancini.

You do raise a good point regarding his wages, they must be quite high but I'm hoping that since he hasn't featured much for Chelsea in a while he'd be wiling and motivated to cut down his wages a bit - only dreaming here - and join us for a new challenge.

You think our midfield is good enough to win the league?! Not sure if it's a guarantee it'll get 3rd us spot.

I think in England wages are usually gross so he would earn about 3 million here if he took a similar deal. If we manage to offload Guarin, Vidic and I know it's unlikely but possibly Dodo wages and add in Oscar I think it would be a brilliant winter mercato.

Rabiot has stated he'd like to go out on loan this January - would love to see him come to Inter and add some quality distribution to our midfield. Happily sacrifice Guarin for him.

Then again I'd happily sacrifice Guarin for most players, so that doesn't say much.

Do we really need four separate transfer threads, each for every position? :serious: just saying, imho it would be more practical with just a single thread for the players instead of four. :)

Regarding Guarin, I think replacing him is potentially more tricky than we might realise. Selling him is one thing. As I discussed with Fitzy outside of the forum recently, we've made things very difficult for ourselves with Guarin. Basically we've turned this ultra-turd into a top player for a top club, at least within Guarin's deluded mind. Now, he thinks clubs like Galatasaray are far beneath his level, while of course, real top clubs would never buy Guarin because as mentioned, he's a fucking mega-shit, and top clubs generally do not buy mega-shits.

Anyway, if we were to hypothesise that Juventus were stupid enough to buy Guarin off us, then we need to be careful with the choice of player he is replaced with, or how the squad is set up to deal with his absence. Basically, for all the shit that he is, Guarin is still the only midfielder we have who is capable of scoring and assisting on his own. I would prefer Brozovic over Guarin every single day of the year but Brozovic is not as direct as Guarin, and his goals do not come from individualism so much as the finishing touch to team moves. I base this on his few goals for us, and his goals for Croatia and Dinamo, and simply the way he is as a footballer. The counter-argument is that as we improve and grow as a team and as a squad, we may not require momentary individual brilliance to get goals or assists for us a la Guarin. But let's be utterly realistic for a second here. Despite how well we're doing in the table and despite how loudly bandiera is going to be shouted down, Mancini has still provided next to no evidence that he, as a coach, is coming up with any attacking solutions to help the team score goals. As I said in the Genoa thread, it's basically been Ljajic, Perisic and Jovetic just improvising and making shit up as they go along, but having the natural talent and previously acquired-coaching, to do so. Thank fuck Ljajic is in some seriously good form right now.

Ultimately, I do not think any drastic 'improvement' in teamplay is going to even happen, or let alone make up for our need of a goal-scoring, or otherwise, highly influential, offensive midfielder a la Vidal or Pogba. I understand that not every team needs a Vidal or Pogba to succeed, and I would like to think that Kondogbia could fill this role to an extent, but it's still early days and he needs to find consistency before we expect him to lead the midfield. As I've mentioned regarding him in the past, I see Brozovic more as a really solid compliment to creative and technical midfielders, not so much as the leader himself, but I'd like to see those two playing together regularly. Sadly, this seems highly unlikely as we seem to have to play one of Medel or Melo. Perhaps if we play something like Medel/Melo, Brozovic, Kondogbia, Ljajic, Perisic, Jovetic... Whatever, that's another debate for later.

Anyway. I suspect that if Guarin goes, we really do need a midfielder who is a genuine goal threat. This is highly ironic, as I think Hernanes would have done a decent job in this role. Anyway, something to think about.

Rabiot won't be a starter he won't want to come here. only buying him would make sense but with Melo, Bro and Medel.

If we sell Guarin for 10 million I would love to buy Edwin Cardona :) he is a much better, faster, younger Guarin who can actually score 1/2 his long shots. Plays in Mexico currently a starter for Colombia and 23. 12 million euro being scouted by Sevilla, Bayern, Arsenal and Leverkusen or however in the fck you spell it. He kind of fat looking tho think thats just his body type. Bacca looks like a fat fk but isn't

skip to 20th sec

also great at Freekicks

Only negative with him is he is a hot head but is still young turns 23 tomorrow but he would be on low wages. Can't be making more then 1 million USD

Non-EU status?

Rabiot represents a huge upside if we can get him on the Inter formula with a reasonable fee. He comes with huge potential and experience playing at a big club. Pretty sure he's currently deputising for Motta at PSG, and is renowned for both his workrate and his technique on the ball. Looks physically strong enough to hold his own in the centre of the park as well.

Most importantly, he's come here with a point to prove. He wants first-team football at PSG and they don't have faith in him yet - he can come here and show them what they're missing. He's certainly not lacking in self-confidence, now it's time to back it up.

That said, he can't arrive unless someone leaves. We've already got Gnoukouri wasting away on the bench as it is. Speaking of, if we do lose Guarin, I would like to see him get another chance as well.

gnoukouri isnt good enough to be a starter. he should be loaned out because i dont see mancini being willing to give him any game time in our midfield over brozovic, melo, medel, guarin, and kdog.

no to rabiot. loan without an option isnt a question because we arent PSG's nursery. mindlessly bringing a raw 20 year old in our mf alongside kdog is the last thing we need right now. fuck me, dont we have immediate goals for this team, dont we want to qualify for the champions league? i also dont see how hed come remotely close to filling our creative void for a straight loan to be worth it.

i also dont like his mentality because he rejected us along with juve, arsenal, roma for no playing time and a payday from PSG, but that couldve just been a naive error in judgement. still, its a bit too arrogant for my liking but i wouldnt complain if we can sign him for cheap (which wont happen, so its a definite no).

^^ Absolutely agreed. For me it's enough to ship off Guarin and get a real and completed playmaker like Moutinho. We have enough young midfielders like K-dog, Brozo and Gnouku.

Moutinho will be at least 25 million euro. Would love him here but we would have to ship out Melo or Medel.

As for Cardona he is what FIFA Guarin is not a young actual Guarin haha

Would love Cardona at Inter. Have we actually been linked with him? I've only seen Bayern's name linked from Europe.

Nope and he has none EU. Love to buy him and send him on loan before another team buys him. He will need time
To adapt to Italy. Would be great to have him ready for Champions league with 6 months in Italy.

So we have become a club that are satisfied with a situation in which we are loaning players from the "greater" clubs as we can develop them and then send them back home again as much better footballers?

Hell we can't even fucking develop our own talented players from the primavera and we should have a focus on fixing this instead as they can generate cash if/when we decide to sell them.

I would love to have Rabiot in this club as he is a great talent but it has to be a permanent transfer.

Could anyone who watches Youri Tielemans regularly tell us more about him? How much would he cost? Could he be a Brozo replacement if we ended up selling him?
