We are being linked to Atalanta`s #19 Franck Kessié - 19 years old DM from Cote d`Ivoire.

Franck Kessie‘s agent George Atangana spoke with calciomercato.com regarding his client: “I must say that he is such an intelligent player who can play different roles, who does very well as a midfielder.”

The 19-year-old has been in inspired form and netted four goals this season and there is interest from Milano for him: “Milan has never show anything, as for Inter, however, I know that they’re viewing, but contact has never occurred.
He's only played as a CB for the Ivory Coast. He played as a central midfielder for most of last year with Cesena, occasionally being deployed as a box to box defensive midfielder, but never as a CB.

He's scored 5 goals in 4 matches thus far, none of them anything special, mostly tap ins and one even being a penalty, but if they showed anything it's that he has a nose for goal, and confidence and composure in front of the net. Those are values you can't truly teach, and to have them strong enough for his team to trust him to convert penalties at 19 years old, especially since he isn't a striker, shows that he might have that "special" something that Inter has needed from our midfield the past few seasons.

If I had to compare him to a specific player, yes, Yaya Toure would certainly be the most accurate, but more specifically to Yaya Toure at Man City. Even further than that I'd compare him to Yaya during the 2013/14 season, where he scored a career high 24 goals, doubling his next best tally. What stands out in particular about that season, besides the number of goals, is how he scored them. Yaya scored 10 goals from finishes within the box and 6 from penalties, two skills Kessie has already showcased, but at only 19 years old. Also, Yaya scored another 3 goals from long shots, something that you could see glimpses of from Kessie at Cesena, but not yet this season with Atalanta. Before joining City, Yaya's best goal tally was 5 during the 2006/07 season at Monaco, a respectable tally considering he was still technically a defensive mid at the time, but not comparable to his tallies once joining City. This was due to being moved further up the pitch as a box to box mid, allowing those bursting runs into the box he is now known for.
Kessie has already made the same transition for Cesena and now Atalanta. Making this transition from a much younger age leads me to believe Kessie could eventually reach, and hopefully, unlike Toure, maintain the numbers that Yaya reached during that season. The only issues I see with Kessie having the potential to reach Yaya's figure from that season is first, Yaya's nearly unparalleled physically ability, and second, developing his FK ability to match that of Toure's form that season, scoring 5 goals from FKs. Realistically, there is no true solution to the first issue because even at 19, it seems Kessie is fully developed physically, and although already physically gifted, won't ever match Toure's physical stature. What I'd hope to see is him make up for it with his work rate, Yaya has always been criticized for his work rate away from the ball, and is certainly something Kessie can surpass him with. As for the second issue, I feel that it is just something that will come with time. As I said earlier, Kessie has already shown glimpses of his ability to score long shots, and has composure and confidence from the penalty spot. Although I wouldn't say a combination of the two directly translate to FK ability, it's certainly as close as you can get, and again, with time, could be developed.

You`re welcome.

That Kessie guy is interesting. But, I'm more interested to know how is his defending, passing, arial duels, etc. Goalscoring is not a primary thing for a DM. We need to know if he could be a proper DM.

Apparently Chelsea are going to try for Brozovic again in January. So Kessie could be a good replacement.

Leonardo Morosini a former Inter youth player now 21 old Trequartista at Brescia a la Baggio scored 4 goals in 5 games for the Blue and white jersey.Inter after him in the past mercato wanting to do a la Caprari deal, now thinking to try and do it in the future.
The kid is a old school Trequartista a la Baggio and Sneijder as those two are his favourite players with his fedelity still to Inter colours from his childhood where he admired Mancini's and Mou's Inter as a ball boy at the Meazza

Replace one of Kondogbia/Brozovic (preferably Kondogbia) with one of Tielemans/Bazoer next window.

I know that we seem to have a good midfield but, FDB relies heavily on his midfielders and today we saw how Banega struggled without JM next to him.

It's clear to me that FDB doesn't trust Brozovic or Kondogbia much and I want to see what he can do with better midfielders.

I don't think its that he doesn't trust Brozovic technically/tactically the way he doesn't trust Kondogbia. He just doesn't like his attitude. Perhaps if he could turn that around we can still salvage a really good player there.

I think Brozovic is a really talented player and he is really that 3rd good CM that can give us depth and push for a starting spot that we are missing right now. Gnokouri might be developing into that sooner or later too but right now Brozo is the superior player no doubting that.

If we do decide to move on Kondogbia/Brozovic I hope it's not for a prospect. We've got that in Gnokouri. Let's bring in someone who can fight for a position immediately and give quality minutes when given the opportunity.

Inter after Bazoer

According to reports in Italy, Inter are monitoring Ajax starlet Riechedly Bazoer.

Reports claim Inter boss Frank De Boer is not happy with Brozovic and Kondogbia and is looking to replace one of the pair with Bazoer, who already shot to fame under De Boer’s guidance at Ajax.

The 19-year-old had already been heavily linked with clubs including Napoli and Milan.

Under contract with Ajax until June 2020, his price-tag is in the region of €15m.

It remains to be seen how actively the club from Milan will pursue Bazoer. Anderlecht's Youri Tielemans is the alternative if Inter fail to secure the 19-year-old’s services.

 Bazoer only for 15m euros? I'd bite their hand off for that deal...but I'm certain they're going to ask for a boatload after Napoli paid them huge money for Milik and Bazoer is their biggest talent.

I'd also look at Saponara to replace either Brozo or Kdog.

maybe we should get another Sporting midfielder for our Medel upgrade
Capital idea old boy, when I watched Sporting I first noticed Joao Mario and his high functioning brain and then I noticed young William Carvalho as he is a very good DM and a Euro Champ.
Problem is he attracted much interest in EPL already...and will be harder to get him than Joao despite Suning being filthy rich(EPL being so attractive and all)
If Kondo keeps on guffing it...maybe do a little swap with cash going their way

Plot twist...De Boer purposely beefing with Kdog and Brozo so he can bring his boy in.

I don't see him being any more expensive than Joao Mario honestly. His hype has mostly died down. He seems like a player that splits opinion. Some seem to think he's useless and lazy, others seem to think he's tactically brilliant and a potentially world class DM.

I haven't really seen enough to base my own opinion. I thought he looked decent in the Euros, but I didn't think he looked any better than Crisiteg did in the U21 Euros a couple years ago when Italy played Portugal. It just shows what opportunity for development can do for a player.

He's older than Mario and has a 45m clause. So I can say he's affordable.

But not sure if we can do better with 45m.

I wonder what the actual market value of Kondogbia is right now.
