To be honest that Albanian guy never got my attention while I was watching Serie A. Is there anyone here who thinks we should put 20-30 million euros for Kumbulla ? If there is I think that fella has a mental problem.

We are talking about a market is that Chelsea paid just 40 million euros for Hakim Ziyech.

35m could turn out to be good value for Kumbulla, but I would rather see that money put towards a good wing-back. CB is the position we are most well-stocked in, and if we want a talented youngster to round out our options it might be more prudent to bring Vanheusden back.

Maybe we need to think a bit more creatively. Conte had in past converted midfielders into very effective wingbacks (Asamoah at Juve, Moses at Chelsea)... Maybe we need to find a quality LM or RM who Conte can use as a wingback. I wonder if Szoboszlai could be made into a LWB, he certainly has the skills. Was watching him today (scored a good hat trick) and couldn't help wondering whether he could be an answer to our LWB issue:

Lukaku - Martinez
Eriksen
Szoboszlai - Brozovic - Barella - Chiesa
Bastoni - De Vrij - Skriniar
Handanovic

I like the look of that.

isn't Szoboszlai right-footed? I know him only from highlights, but he looks like new Sergej. By the way, what do you think about Patson Daka, Haaland's successor in Salzburg?

According to reports from Germany, Dortmund are trying to extend Hakimi loan for one more season as Zidane isn't convinced by his attributes. If there's any chance Hakimi could be available in the summer we should do everything we can to get him.

A Szoboszlai addition would be amazing the kid is legit. Instead of Tolisso I suggest this kid instead

Malang Sarr [free]

Szoboszlai is going to AC Milan, at least at how things are standing right now. Gazidis reportedly hires Ralf Rangnick and Dominik wants to follow him.

Szoboszlai on his official Instagram profile celebrated victory and performance by writing “This is a special hat-trick”. Among those who commented was Leao, who wrote: “As always”. The Hungarian responded with a flame and and the two eyes emoji.

It is not the first time that Leao comments on Szoboszlai on social networks, and it certainly adds fuel to the fire with all the rumours linking Szoboszlai to Milan.
Lazio are closely following but all my sources indicate this will happen, and the talented youngster will have playing time to develop.

You are being highly creative on this one :D I doubt Szoboszlai would accept it, given that he is about to be a starter in midfield, from where he can continue to deliver hattricks [unlike LWB].

» Back on topic: defenders linked to Inter.
I think the strategy on the left is Marotta`s waiting game - will let other clubs move first, to start the domino effect. As soon as Chelsea buys, somebody becomes available [Palmieri/Alonso]. If we go straight to buy someone, clubs will ask for a lot of money. So it is advisable to wait and see who become available after all these moves (Telles/Tagliafico/Theo?), especially that Barcelona might eventually come up with the 85-90m + Júnior Firpo.

When it comes to central midfield, there is a great market opportunity that I expect Marotta to take.
Based on my investigation I found that Inter are considering signing Nice academy graduate Malang Sarr. Facts:
1. 21 years old solid center back, rarely missed games. Despite his young age, Sarr has already made 119 appearances across all competitions for the club
2. Senegal origins, left footed and 1.85m
3. Romano reported several years ago, when Sarr was 17-year-old that Inter were scouting him
4. He has long been considered one of France’s most enticing prospects, P$G and Chel$ea tracking him as well back then, but Nice were protected by a buyout clause of €50m
5. His contract is expiring this summer, so he becomes a free agent. Current market value is €16m because he confirmed he is going away for free
6. Good deal brings competition, so naturally other clubs are interested (Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Monchengladbach, Eintracht Frankfurt, RB Leipzig, Schalke 04 and Wolfsburg)
7. His agent is Pastorello (representing Lukaku, Candreva, Keita Baldé, and potentially Esposito) so we might have the upper hand here ;)

Speculation: putting all the pieces of the puzzle together, I believe we have the ideal candidate to be signed. It makes more sense than having Vertonghen on a big wage crying for 1st team football (we still have Godin for that). So if we do land Sarr, you heard it from me first :work:

I remember the reports linking us with Sarr. It was during the Sabatini era who usually had a good eye for cb. He was highy rated back then but somehow he's still at Nice. He has experience both in a back 3 and a back 4. LCB in a back 3 and CB or a defensive LB in a back 4. Gladbach had tried to sign him last summer but they couldn't find an agreement with Nice. They're expected to sign him on a free but our good relationship with Pastorello can give us an advantage if we're really interested.

I believe he's a gamble worth taking as we only have Bastoni who can play as LCB and i certainly prefer him over Vertonghen.

Yeah I have a feeling that's the way to go and that's what we're also going to do. The waiting game. There can be good deals to be done in September. And honestly, nothing "unpassable player" is out there (like Tonali for midfielders). My guess that's the reason for relatively small amount of WB rumors so far.

Who would you rather have between him, Aouar, and Havertz?

FcInter1908 reports " Sarr e fatta, accordo a un passo"

Which means he must be damn close. I remember we were chasing him when he was younger. Left footer, 1.85cm tall CB. Can play wingback too. And highly rated.

Pastorello his agent.

Onda Cero are saying that us, BVB and Bayern Munich are looking at Hakimi. Real Madrid value him at 60m.

I have no idea how reliable Onda Cero are, I just know them as a big Spanish radio station. But I'd give up Tonali and spend that money for Hakimi without a second thought.

They're not as reliable as Cadena Ser or Cope but they're one of the good sources.

I would kindly suggest you read previous posts before posting, as this has been already reported with more details: http://forzainterforums.com/showthread.php?14695-2019-2020-Defenders-Rumours-Thread&p=1909977&viewfull=1#post1909977

Meanwhile, some italian publications have picked up the story, but Il Drago shared Fabrizio Romano`s opinion: we are not onto him. Tuttosport speculates that signing Sarr would also allow Inter to keep their promise with Hellas Verona: sign Albanian talent Marash Kumbulla in the summer and then send him back to the Gialloblu on loan for next season, with Sarr joining the squad to strengthen the defensive department.
ANSA: Should Inter’s attempts to sign Kumbulla fail, the Nerazzurri would sign Malang Sarr.

Hellas Verona want a sum of €35 million for Kumbulla, who is among the most highly rated young players currently playing in Italy. Lazio sporting director Igli Tare however does not wish to pay that much for the 20-year-old and hopes to be able to do a deal for less than that. The report goes on to explain that Lazio’s interest led to Inter making their first offer for Kumbulla which consists of €18 million plus Eddie Salcedo but Hellas Verona deemed the offer to be unsatisfactory.

Who wants to open the Kumbulla thread? He`s obivously one of our targets :work:

Can we not have both? our defensive stocks could be the envy of Serie A if Kumbulla and Sarr become proficient in their roles along with Bastoni.

Godin and Rannochia time will be limited and will struggle to make an appearance imo

I know there are 0 links to Adama Traore, IMO Inter should sign him. He is just a beast of a player, playing at completely different level this season. He started the season as a bench player, then when their RWB was injured he came on as a wing back and played really well. His attacking is so good he started to play as attacker in 3-5-2/3-4-3 formation.

If Inter can get him and play as RWB, he will be huge upgrade. Will be genuine threat from any position on the pitch.
