Tuttosport attempt to convince us Morata is a good option for Inter is really touching.

Maybe we are trying to trick Paratici into buying Morata? :megusta:

Inter waiting on Cavani`s answer on contract offer matching Lukaku and Erisken`s wage

First I don't buy it Cavani is Atletico-bound (agreement in January but then it collapsed) and second, hell no we are going for Morata.
Former P$G teammate Ander Herrera told AS that Cavani wants to play in Spain: “I know Cavani wants to play in Spain because it’s a league and a country that he loves,” the former Manchester United midfielder told AS. In fact, I’ve been wondering a lot about what he’ll do, but since we left Paris I’ve not had the chance to speak to him and I’m unaware of his current situation.”

Despite that, Calciomercato.com warns his demands put off Atletico in January and that they may not match the Nerazzurri’s offer of a €7m salary for two seasons.

The Beneamata only moved for Cavani after they missed out on Olivier Giroud and Dries Mertens. "Specialists in Inter transfer gossip" FcInternews.it now suggest Cavani was never really destined for San Siro anyway, as he had signed a pre-contract agreement with Atletico Madrid months ago.

It is claimed Cavani was an option considered after the Mertens turnaround, but negotiations never really got underway.

What remains to be seen is whether Atletico Madrid are ready to deposit the existing contract or try to renegotiate the terms in a post-COVID-19 world!!!!! The Uruguay international had agreed a two-year deal worth €10m per season.

So right now, Cavani seems destined to join Atletico, unless they fuck up and backtrack on their agreement.

According to Di Marzio, Cavani refuses to enter into negotiations with Inter as he wants to evaluate his options first.

It is said Cavani wants to wait till the season is over and it's over only after CL in August.

Beppe on various rumours:

"Lautaro? I can't predict the future but I would say to him to focus on the present as there are still objectives within our reach. Suning do not want to sell him but if Barca pay the full release clause, we'll sign a top player to replace him."

"Cavani? He is being monitored but we have not taken any steps to sign him and at the moment he is not close to joining Inter."

"Chiesa? He is a talented player but Fiorentina are asking for a lot of money, maybe even more than 70 million euros."

"Tonali? He is more affordable, an operation that could be concluded in a positive way."

"Zaniolo? It requires a high investment and at the moment there are no economic conditions to negotiate."

"Icardi sale? We did well there, it was a difficult operation. This one was finalised in a difficult period from a financial point of view, it is useless to think about the past."

"Nainggolan? He will return from loan and we will make evaluations."

Would like to see us go after Haaland if we end up selling Lautaro.

Dortmund is not selling Haaland for sure. And Haaland is most probably targeting clubs bigger than Inter which have better salary paying ability when he makes his next move.

Don`t forget Haaland is Mino Raiola customer, so he intends to move him very often and this is something Dortmunt have agreed to. Yes, he is destined for more money that we are prepared to offer.

Calciomercato: Duvan Zapata has often been linked to Inter since last summer and it seems that it has not changed. Given the difficulties in reaching other objectives such as Edinson Cavani, the Colombian striker could once again be on the wish list of Giuseppe Marotta.

The former Sampdoria player is really appreciated by Antonio Conte who would find a powerful tandem together with Romelu Lukaku. According to Calciomercato, in this sense, contacts with Atalanta for Sebastiano Esposito over the last few hours could be linked to this operation. The young striker, for whom Inter want to include a buyback clause in the next five years, could be the useful card to convince the Percassi family to let go and lower their demand for Zapata.

This Zapata rumor was interesting indeed. Though I guess he's way too expensive, he's Atalanta's main CF, so changing him to 18-year-old kid is just :yao:

We would have to pay like 50m€ to Atalanta? (minus Esposito's valuation).

As a pure idea, it would be brilliant but I think Zapata is just way too expensive transfer fee -wise.

Well we have already sold Icardi, Werner not coming, Giroud not coming, Mertens not coming, Cavani will take his time to decide, Alexis might return, so we need several forwards, not just 1 to replace Lautaro in case he leaves. This has been already confirmed by experts: Inter will not buy only 1 striker [remember the [CunhaB][/B] rumor].

Zapata`s current market value is €36m at 29 years old, he is not getting older so of course Atalanta are interested to sell. They have payed €14m in 2018 for the loan + €12m in January 2020 to make the deal permanent. I can imagine Marotta and Conte would prioritize Zapata over someone of similar age like Lacazette [29], but without any Serie A experience. I know Conte likes these bulldozer type of strikers, so it might happen in case we sell Lautaro.

Calciomercato already reported back in March that Zapata is being considered as replacement in case Lautaro is sold. I would rather we sign Zapata than fuckin` Morata!

Well if he is not getting older we should go for him and have one striker position covered for ages xP.

The problem with strong/target man type of stikers is that once they get old and lose their explosivity they become useless. Especially if he is someone like Zapata (meaning no international pedigree) you are stuck with him until he retires if we sign him at 29.
That said i believe on directors when they say that Lautaro would be replaced by a top striker if he leaves, so not too worried about the media rumours.

I was thinking Zapata would come to Inter as the 3rd striker behind Lukaku and Lautaro. Then add Sanchez and we have a pretty strong top4 strikers. Problem is though he's probably way too expensive unless we manage to negotiate Esposito's value way too high (with a buyback-option set even higher obviously).

Zapata would be a great option but only as a Lukaku backup. His style is too similar to Lukaku to be his partner. Spending 40-50m for a backup makes no sense. It's not like he's a youngster who could eventually replace Lukaku in the future. He's actually older than Lukaku. I am not buying the Zapata rumour.

I think Zapata could be taken for 30-40mln + Esposito ( including buy back option) which would be great. For me Duvan could replace both Lautaro and Lukaku. I would take him over Aubameyang or Cavani. His transfer fee would be a higher most probably (not speaking for Cavani) but their salaries are much biger.

Agree.. but since the rumour with atalanta, i'd rather have Muriel instead for Lautaro backup, since sanchez's salary too high and try to put Pinamonti or Loan Schick from Roma.

Unless Atalanta wants to take a step back and re-tool, taking on Esposito with an Inter buy-back is not enough of an incentive for them to sell Zapata to direct rivals. Espo is not reliable enough to be a 3rd option on a competitive serie A team. I'd rather buy Zapata outright, skip the negligible discount and send Espo to a club where he is guaranteed playing time.

I like Zapata and actually preferred to get him rather than Lukaku given that he would have cost less and has done a really good job over the last few years. I am not sure how he would look together with Lukaku though. I think Zapata has better technique and while not as strong, I actually think he uses his strength better (Lukaku is a strange case as he uses his strength well in certain games but doesn't as much in other matches).

If Lautaro leaves, I don't even know who a good option would be. The old Alexis Sanchez would have been great but I don't know if he has the ability to get back to his best. I'd love for Lautaro to stay. My preference would have been to keep Lautaro and Lukaku (Conte wouldn't sell him anyway), and get Mertens on a free (ship has sailed), along with another forward as a backup for Lukaku. Who knows, maybe Giroud is still an option.

Zapata would be a great signing. Do it Marotta.

If Esposito leaves on loan, he isn't coming back. Atalanta knows this. I said the same thing about Karamoah. Where is he now?
