40m for a unproven kid, just because he is big and strong? That is just ridiculous. This is a kid not yet considered good enough to be Andre Silva's back up for Portugal. He hasn't even scored for Portugal U21 yet, was a bench player for Portugal U21 who didn't even quality for the EuroU21. I would be ok if it was a Karamoh kind of deal (8m punt), but 40m? This sounds more moronic than the Gabigol transfer.

Moise Kean is also young, is a starter for Italian NT, and has already had a break through season in Serie A for a top team. He costs 40m. Would you prefer Leao over Kean?
Of course I wouldn't. I've never even heard of this guy before he was linked to us. The only reason I said do it is because I'm assuming it's a player conte wants. If it's not someone conte wants then im 150% against this deal.

Let me be clear about something, I'm all in for conte at this point. If I had a 100 million budget, and conte is 100% sure he sees no alternatives to Lukaku, I'd be more than willing to spend the whole 100 on Lukaku. If this is absolutely what he wants to build the team around and no one else.

I mean...

Conte's last transfer demands were bakayoko and drinkwater. I wouldn't trust him with a transfer request to save my life.

Can't really bash the Bakayoko signing. He was a stud at Monaco and put together a good season at Milan. Not sure why it never clicked in England.

Conte's requests on the whole leave a lot to be desired

It's not like Conte's first touch was any better.

Conte was really fucked during chelsea's window that summer, they failed to get him if I recall 3 of his targets. Anyway, it doesn't really matter to me if the names he wants aren't appealing. The management decided to pay a 12 million salary for him for 3 years. 12 million is a huge sum, and it shows the direction the club are going with conte. They see him as the man to take this team to the next level. It's too late to go back now, so just stick to it. We all have no choice but to believe in it right now and we all should be fully in support of it. Lets face it, we've had a long ass history of bad sales and bad purchases all the way back to the moratti era.

12mil for 3 years is 36mil. I'd much rather lose 36mil if he walks and we have to pay him, than lose 83M + 9M/yr for 5year contract = 120M+ on buying a player like lukaku.

Conte needs to prove himself in year 1. That's what I would do if I were in charge. And even after that, his 2nd season at chelsea proves, he needs restraints.

The only primary target he didn't get in season 2 was lukaku. Everybody else was a primary target, plus morata was also pretty high up on his list too.

Finding this very funny at the moment: https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...-rumours-chelsea-beat-arsenal-to-mauro-icardi

Where does that leave us? It probably leaves us goggle-eyed over the future of Mauro Icardi, the most obvious remaining candidate to move for Silly Money after a tortuous saga over the next three weeks. Arsenal have been the Internazionale forward’s most committed suitors and still appear to see Olivier Giroud as bait, but the wildly gesticulating, healthily coiffured figure you see galloping over the horizon in last-ditch pursuit is Antonio Conte with Chelsea scheming over a £50m bid to ruin the Gunners’ summer and make themselves feel better after failing to land Romelu Lukaku.

Saying that Conte needs to prove himself is just unrealistic. Conte is here on 12 million a year because he doesn’t need to prove himself, he already has. That’s why we hired him and let go of a coach who got us CL twice.

He came with a huge potential lawsuit as he basically walked away from his contract. AM also signed Gelson Martins for free as well but then decided to settle with Sporting.

Sporting never sued Lille tho, maybe they didn't think they can get much from a frech club which is not PSG or Lyon. But I'm sure they will come and claim a huge chunk of money if he moves for any significant amount of money.

Unrealistic? No. The alternative is just naive. His last season was a disaster at Chelsea. He has to prove that is not the new trend.

Just because we stupidly overpaid to get him, doesn't mean we need to continue to be stupid and take significant risks with his transfers. Can you imagine we spend 200M+ in transfers for him in one season and they're all deadweight like what he did at Chelsea? We'd be crippled and crying FFP for 5 years easily.

You're willing to risk that downside on Conte? Anyways...forward rumors thread...i'll stop.

I still remember the first season Conte was at chelsea. There was a lot of hype that season on managers. Mourinho just became coach of Man United, Klopp became coach of Liverpool, Guardiola became coach of Man City, and Arsene Wenger and Pochetinho were already there. It says a lot about Conte honestly that he won that season clearly. He started of slow too, and then figured out the right formation and the right system that really took the league by storm. Even some managers tried copying it. That's what big managers do.

Im very optimistic that if conte gets the players he wants, we will get back to the top. He's the right manager to do it, he proved it twice with Juve and Chelsea and he certainly has nothing to prove here. What I know is, even in the unlikely case he doesn't win something in the next three years. Our team will be formidable for many years to come.

He does get Pochettino and Klopp look bad... dont he :pazzini:

Back to forwards topic

Bosnia CT Robert Prosinecki has revealed that ‘one of the best strikers in the world’ Edin Dzeko wants to leave Roma for Inter.

Dzeko has been heavily linked with Inter since the end of last season, and Prosinecki urged his No 9 to make the move to San Siro.

“For me, he is certainly, even today, one of the best strikers in the world,” the former Barcelona and Real Madrid midfielder told Passioneinter.com.

“I’d really like it if he went to a club where he had more chances to win trophies. Inter are a great team, with a Coach like Conte.

“He’s one of the best strikers I’ve ever seen at work. It’s not just because he’s playing for Bosnia, I’ve been following him for a long time.

“He’s done great things wherever he’s played, from Roma and Wolfsburg to Manchester City, scoring lots of goals and showing real class.

“We’ve talked about Inter often. Even a little while ago, we talked about his situation and his move to Inter.

“Without taking anything away from Roma, who are also a great club, he now has the chance to go to Inter, where he can achieve bigger objectives than he could in the Italian capital.

“He’s still at a good age and he has 2-3 years at the highest level left in him. Conte told me Dzeko was one of the strikers he wanted, and he’ll surely will enjoy great success with the Nerazzurri.

“We talk about Inter and his current situation very often.”

Stop fishing for thanks and disagreeing just for the sake of disagreeing. Your post has so much ignorance. That's like me saying "Oh but di matteo won the champions league, so winning it isn't a big deal"

No, Ranieri won the league, not a cup competition. The "best league in the world" and whatever nonsense people believe. Conte is hyped for winning the same league with a strong team.

It's a great analogy. Goes to show that Conte's success is:
1) An iffy Juventus success under...Italian circumstances and a trophy that even Ranieri with a relegation team managed to win.
2) A similar trophy case with Roberto Mancini.
3) A similar career with both Ranieri and Mancini in European tournaments.

Now please tell me how Conte winning the PL was a better feat than Ranieri winning it.

P.s. For those nitpickers that don't get it, this post is just showcasing the idea that these numbers and "successes" are close to meaningless.

I can't believe that I've reached a thousand posts on this forum. I still remember my first post, I came here to vent my frustration at our dumb management. Sorry bro, but I didn't come to get frustrated by dumb fans. I'll have someone else respond to you.
