Loaning him would mean an obligatory contact extension with Chelsea. Plus I think you can't sign contracts below a year, but don't quote me on that.

If we just loan him for 6 months, then he's a free agent in the summer. Why would there need to be any extensions involved?

He also is Chelsea's third option in attack behind Abraham and Batshuayi. 7m for Giroud is ridiculous.

Conte gets what he wants even if it means us getting raped (again).

Fuck Giroud. There are so many options in the market.

Today there is news that Milan are planning to get rid of Piatek, even open to a loan move. I would take Piatek for a loan for 6 months, with an option to buy at around 20m. He is good young striker, very physical, and currently going through a crisis of confidence (any young striker would have a confidence issue at this Milan side). IMO Piatek would be a much better vice-Lukaku than Giroud, who is declining fast (and was never very good to start with).

There may also be a similar deal possible for young Moise Kean, who IMO is a superstar waiting to happen as long as he sorts out his attitude a little bit. Conte is the perfect coach to sort him out (or destroy him completely). Lukaku is unlikely to need much rest, specially if we get knocked out of CL, so there is an opportunity to get a young player as vice-Lukaku.

Milan will never give us Piatek. Only scenario could be a swap, like it happend with Cassano and Pazzini.... well, maybe they want Politano ::troll:

What Conte signings have we been "raped" on?

Swapping Lukaku for Icardi and kicking out Nainggolan, obviously. :einstein:

The ol' "we forced away our top scorer and captain and €110m striker in exchange for a bumbling oaf with a donkey's first touch" narrative. The "Interballs" narrative.

Not sure if you are being a smartass or not, the "interballs narrative" isn't to be confused with conte getting what he wants. As conte claimed, he had no say regarding nainggolan and icardi matter. I was merely stating the fact that Lukaku made it obvious that he wanted to leave and so did Man Utd,yet we are paying very close to what their asking price was.

If Milan want to change their attack (as is rumoured), then they will. Coz now FFP has a firm grip around their neck. One in, one out. We will actually be doing Milan a favour by taking Piatek off their books, making space for Ibra or whoever they are thinking of.

I think an offer of 12 months loan + option at remaining book value should do the trick. But I would actually prefer Moise Kean.

I am of the thought Kean would be a decent get, Conte would either fix his attitude or he is another Balotelli that let his ego waste his talent.

I dont see Lukaku being at Inter for years to come, but I can hope to see Martinez, Kean and Eposito lead us in the future and very flexible for any game plan for Inter's lineup.

I don't think we've seen enough from Piatek's career to really say that his current underwhelming run is the anomaly rather than the norm. When everyone is critiquing squad depth for the lack of reliably decent players, I wouldn't feel very confident with Piatek as the backup.

there has to be an italian or serie a striker that is over 30 and wouldn't care to have a bench role?

Yes. Giroud is IMO perfect for that role but we need to find a reasonable financial deal. Or maybe we want to give him 1,5 year deal and that's why we're ready to pay 6-7m€?

Who are these options on the January market? Are people just letting go of strikers? Is everyone doing an Icardi? Giroud is a good option, even in June and if we can get him on the cheap, why not?

LOL I would run naked in Milano if milan would accept such a deal for Piątek in our favor :trollol: Are you inventing these figures? :D I`m sure they are not that stupid to accept such a deal. Why would they loan their best forward to us? Not going to happen, says reality. He was linked to Real Madrid in a swap loan for Jovic.

According to Sport Mediaset, Dries Mertens will not be the reinforcement for Inter’s attack in January. The Belgian has an expiring contract with Napoli next June but he has been rejected by the club of Suning essentially for one reason: Conte wants a physical first striker like Giroud instead of the Azzurri striker.

Yeah Mertens is not a fit in January. Maybe in summer when we send Sanchez back (we're not gonna pay what United will ask). Giroud is the guy for January, but we should avoid overpaying and specifically avoid giving him multiple years (1.5 years max for me).

And people soughting after Moise Kean, think again. He was kicked out of NT because of unprofessional behaviour (late in trainings etc.) and was sold by Juve partly for the same reason (other reason being that they were able to made such a good plusvalenza by selling him). So why on Earth would #interballs Marotta and Conte want this kid?

The Giroud rumours remind me of the Keita Balde deal last year. At first it was loan with €25m option. Then €5m loan fee + €25m option. Then fucking €6m loan fee + €35m option. :einstein:

Likewise, with Giroud, the first figure I saw was €5m and now a few days later it's €7m. I'm amused by my own stinginess because that €2m difference seems to bother me more than I'd like to admit.

Whatever though, I'd still pay it. The cost of not bringing in a striker in January will be far greater than the cost of securing Giroud or whoever.

there has to be an italian or serie a striker that is over 30 and wouldn't care to have a bench role?

This is what I'm thinking, though that might just be some leftover Football Manager-driven wishful thinking. Conte wasn't entirely wrong when he said we hadn't planned well going into the season. Seems like he really wanted a vice-M̶i̶l̶i̶t̶o̶ Lukaku. We'd have done well to pick up some shitter with physical attributes like Santander or even Simeone.

Who knows how financially viable they (and others) were before the season started, and also how willing they were to join as a backup. It's exponentially harder in January, because few players will want to jeopardize or give up their playing to come here and play a bench role. That's why we're left with Giroud, who is 33 years old and desperate to get some playing time. He really seems the candidate.

Confirmed: Inter are in talks with #Chelsea for Olivier Giroud. On Friday, Piero Ausilio was in London to discuss with Blues the situation of french striker. Marina Gronovskaia asked to Inter €5-7M to sell him in January.

I`m sure Marotta will get us the best deal and Chelsea will be happy to sell, to avoid losing him for free and joining another BPL club. Only concern is that they are still under ban and won`t be able to sell him in January. Instead of overpaying for Dzeko, we will get cheap alternative.

I guess it`s time for compilations

Comparing Dzeko to Giroud is insulting to Dzeko
