Im not touching a potential Chiesa signing for anything. Castrovili is the only fiore player worth a damn. So if we’re looking for someone he’s the real player to look at not all hype Chiesa

To be clear, Chiesa is worth a damn, the question is whether he is worth it in our set-up. I would actually make an argument that Pulgar is also worth it, but if get a player with such a profile, I would probably bet on Matic. So that would make Castrovilli only interesting player FOR US.

RWB/RM as Candreva, says Sportmediaset, they say that Conte is confident he can play there...
Him doing defensive duties?! Lol

Gazzetta had reported the same last summer so it could be true. Unless we switch to 3-4-3, going for Chiesa makes no sense. He has no position in 3-5-2.

Regarding 343: I dont know how good their relationship is, but in september Lippi said in an interview with LGDS that he is confident that Conte will eventually switch to 343. Perhaps it is related to players at disposal? Eventually he wants to add people to the squad so that he could change the formation?

Sport Mediaset is insisting in saying that Inter is trying to get Chiesa in January. The offer is according to them 30M + Poli and Dalbert.
Apparently they could play him in a 343 or 3412 but the idea is to make him work in the 352.

Of course i only believe Sky Sport but im sure that they are thinking about it. Fiorentina is in a very bad position at the moment and someone like Chiesa already waited to much to get things working there. He would not say no to Inter.

He simply doesn't fit, Fiore are trying him in a 352 and it's not working out. If you want Chiesa get a new manager.

You are probably not noticing that many of Marotta's moves are to prevent Juve from signing important players like Chiesa.

What abilities Conte likes in the players? Let's see:
-stamina
-physacility
-intelligence
-tactical awereness
-hard-work
-suited to italian football ideally
Chiesa has it all. It's difficult for me to say where Chiesa could play in 3-5-2, but Conte for sure has clear idea how to benefit from Chiesa.

Moreover, Chiesa reminds me of Tevez. Of course, he is not a striker, but he has similar way of playing. Another similar player in recent years in Serie A? Iturbe who was the reason that Conte left Juventus, because he didn't get him. Yep, in hindsight, it turned out that Iturbe didn't develop into world class player, but I think he could be another Conte's soldier and it's a clear example what kind of player Conte likes and needs.

Another reason is Marotta who loves to search for bargains and his ideal transfer targets are players which underperfoming for given moment, because they are cheaper. Chiesa was brilliant in recent seasons, but he is dissapointing this season and lacks motivation to play in Firenze. Fiorentina has conflict with Juventus and it's a nice occasion to intercept their target. Loaning Dalbert to Fiorentina wasn't a coincidence and it turned out to be a good idea, because he can be a bargaining chip in this deal... so it could be nice opportunity in January, Juventus has no funds for this deal, because they have to get rid of many players to make space for another.
So Dalbert + Politano/Gabigol + cash for Chiesa is possible in my opinion.

I think there is 0% chance we will move away from 2 forwards formation in the current situation the way Martinez and Lukaku chemistry looks like. 0%. They seem like having amazing partnership at the moment. We cannot switch to 3-4-3 from Chelsea era, as they had basically 2 wingers playing closer to the center, but still who dribbled a lot, especially Hazard. So even though Chiesa could play there very well imo, the problem is who plays on the other side. Neighter Lukaku, nor Lautaro will play there as good as they play closer to center.

So with that in mind, the only formation we could play are:
4-4-2
4-1-2-1-2
3-5-2
3-4-1-2

I think it's very unlikely Conte will get away from 3 defender system, so the only possibility is 3-4-1-2 which I think will also not utilize to the fullest Chiesa. However this is the possibility, the only one in fact. The problem is that we don't have a substitute. On the flip side, that would solve our midfield problem for this season, as you only need 2 midfielders at that point.

Like I've said earlier Chiesa is just way too expensive bench player.

We've just started to introduce Lazaro, who we paid 20+m€ for. So now we would be ditching that idea all together and switch to Chiesa for the RWB? Come on.

Inter Milan 'line up Dries Mertens swoop' from Napoli as Antonio Conte plots link-up with Romelu Lukaku

Inter Milan are preparing a January move for Napoli and Belgium forward Dries Mertens.

According to Belgian outlet Het Nieuwsblad, Inter will move for the 32-year-old as part of Antonio Conte's plans to bolster the attacking options at his disposal.

Mertens' deal expires at Napoli next summer and a move next month would suit Carlo Ancelotti's men financially, as they wouldn't lose Mertens for free next year.

The Belgian outlet's report on Wednesday adds that Mertens would like to remain in Italy and Conte would like to link Mertens up with his main attacker, Romelu Lukaku.

Lukaku and Mertens play together in Belgium's attack on the international stage and will be heading to Euro 2020 together next year.

Mertens has scored nine goals in 23 games for club and country so far this season.

save your buck for the midfield

Juve is according to Barone not a option
- - - Updated - - -

Republica - "Chiesa refused to play against Verona. He's team mates are not happy about this, it's a simliar situation like the one from Icardi from last year"
Why would juBe not be an option? He should eat bench like ex-Fiorentina Bernardeschi for all I care. Last thing I want is a toxic player like Icardi, now that we`ve clearead the air.

Chiesa`s finishing is almost Politano level. Waaaay overrated. I would be happy to get SMS & Tonali.
It's a no from me for Chiesa. He's overrated, he has no position in 3-5-2, he's a diver and he apparently has a bad attitude. He has also chosen Juve over Inter according to GdS.

The only Italian talent i want at Inter is Tonali and we should do everything we can to book him for next summer.
+1, perfectly said, totally agree with you and Uni.

If you want a good backup/competition for Lautaro, just replace Alexis with Mertes in summer for FREE.

Inter are reportedly looking to bring Napoli forward Dries Mertens to San Siro, a transfer that would pair him up with his international teammate Romelu Lukaku.

Belgian outlet Het Nieuwsblad said that former Chelsea coach Antonio Conte has admired the forward for a long time and “tried to bring Mertens to London.”

The 32-year-old’s contract expires next summer, and it doesn’t look like Napoli will be offering him a new deal at the San Paolo.

The Belgian newspaper said that Mertens “is looking to stay in Italy” and if the Partenopei don’t cash in during the January market, he will be available to negotiate a deal for the summer with their rivals.

Het Nieuwsblad add that Conte is ready to make a move and claims that the Inter boss “is looking at Mertens as a successor to Lautaro Martinez”, who is wanted by Barcelona.
Successor? :chan: I doubt that. While it`s been reported Man City also want Lautaro, we should just remove the release clause from his contract.

According to Sky, Inter are now zooming in on the upcoming winter window. The option of signing Giroud seems to have died down given that Sanchez is returning at the beginning of January and also the recovery of Politano.

Mertens would help us way more in the next 6 months, than any other period of time he is here.

Mertens will want at least a 3 year contract. I am not sure if it is a good idea.

Just wait as we're gonna offer him a 3-year deal. Godin already looks like a not that great of a deal given that he also got 3 years though we can always calculate it that the cost of getting him for free was paying that 3rd year when he will be pure bench player. With Mertens, it might be the same thing but the difference is we're not going to consider him a starter at any point unlike we did and do with Godin when signed.

It still might be worth it given that we need to get forwards and we don't have endless funds. Sanchez most probably needs to be replaced because United will ask a transfer fee and he has a big salary => we won't buy him. Rotation role is just fine for Mertens since he hasn't been a locked starter at Napoli ever.
