Inter are ready to push for Christian Eriksen. The jewel of Tottenham, if not renewed, will be a free agent next summer even with the recent appointment of Jose Mourinho which doesn’t seem to be able to change the player’s intention of leaving.
Eriksen recently rejected a contract extension from club chairman Daniel Levy whose idea was to extend him for a couple of seasons with the insertion of €50M release clause. In short, they want to renew the player’s contract and then sell him right away. But again, that proposal was declined by the Danish midfielder and agent Martin Schoots.
Last summer, Atletico and Real Madrid gave it a shot to sign him and will return in 7-8 months. Leonardo is also at work to bring Eriksen to Paris Saint Germain as well as other clubs. But watch out for Inter because after contacts made to explore the possibility of signing him last summer, the Nerazzurri of Suning are ready to accelerate in view of summer 2020.
Everyone at Inter, from Suning to Conte and to Marotta, agrees that Eriksen is the classic player that allows any team in the world to make a qualitative leap by raising the bar of the entire group. The Inter CEO met with the player’s agent recent days in Milan to officially re-establish contacts.
Inter are right there, very serious in this high-stakes race against the biggest and richest clubs in Europe. On the player’s part, the demand is a four-year deal at €10M net per season. The first meeting was positive and Marotta is working to put Inter ahead of competition to strike next summer.
