No it won't. I rate Tonali and have been putting him in "wishlist lineups" here longer than anyone else. But winning a transfer tussle is nothing like winning a Scudetto. Buying a lottery ticket is nothing like winning the jackpot.

Just from an outlay perspective. Amortisation plus salary wise they probably arent that far apart, and it means we have 4 starting midfielders already even before we acquire tonali. Playing 2nd sub for inter wont help him develop that much - 1st sub would be fine with injuries etc

Tonali is so young that he can be still a sub for a top team. Lots of game for Inter, there's plenty of matches for everyone. Like talked here, it's not only the games, that develop you. Also the training with a top talents and a top coach develops you. Training in a super competitive environment where the expectation is to win it all.

2nd sub of Inter midfield, you can see Vecino/Gagliardini minutes this season how much they've played. Valero stats tell the 3rd sub minutes.

Both from a minutes perspective but also the financial side. I wouldn't be too surprised if these were exclusive tbh. Valero is a little anomalous as how often would you expect to have two starting midfielders both out for a sustained period?

If Tonali comes here, he’s sharing Brozović minutes. I can’t picture him anywhere else, definitely first off the bench. Until someone ultimately becomes expendable.

Tonali has said he actually prefers box-to-box role. Versatility is the key for him, and obviously the pure talent. Really having a player who can stunt Brozovic and Barella, how not to like that? Tonali shouldn't even except to play most of the games at this stage of his career, IF he wants to join to a big club.

Other route is Lazio level club where he could take the starting spot very soon. These not-top clubs might just be out of the reach in terms of financial requirements.
