Yeah I guess if we want to use our resources elsewhere and as the resources are indeed limited, I wouldn't go for Emerson. Gosens is even more expensive though he's probably better also despite the Atalanta effect. What happened to all Telles rumors? He isn't going to PSG or Chelsea anymore at all.

The most interested team in Telles was PSG but they decided to extend Kurzawa contract so they don't need a lb anymore. Chelsea were always more interested in Tagliafico than Telles but now they apparently are more focused on Chillwel. Apart from a French (or a Portuguese, i don't remember well) report there were never rumours linking Inter with Telles. Just a wishful thinking from some members (including myself ). I wouldn't mind a short term solution for the left side and then sign Telles on a free next summer.

Personally, this wouldn't bother me at all. One, because if Madrid were to come knocking on the door again, it would mean good things have happened with Reggie. And two, just because they come knocking doesn't mean they're going to get what they want. If Mendy is still entrenched as the starter at Madrid in a year or two's time - and, to my knowledge, buyback clauses rarely go beyond two years post-sale, though that's not a hard and fast rule I suppose - then Reguilon's not going to have enough playing time to satisfy a return.

To me, this is one of those "act now and ask questions later" kinds of situations. Worry about finding a Reguilon replacement down the road if you need to. There's every chance you'll never have to worry about that at all.

In the end I'm 90% sure we'll work out a deal with Verona for Kumbulla. We've been following him forever and Verona want to keep Salcedo and Dimarco. It'll probably be player(s)+cash deal and that's our back 3 sorted for next year.
