That had nothing to do with him playing for United. But it had everything to do with him being a free agent in the summer. People, come on. :D

Zichenko is Citys best left back yet finds himself on the bench. I reckon he'd make an excellent LWB.

No one seem to have mentioned Singo from Torino. Dude playes on the right and was a beast against us and also against Juventus. Anybody else who have watched him play? I bet he could handle one of the CB roles but he usually plays on the WB and is 190cm which is crazy for a wingback

I quite like him but I don't know if he can actually play as CB (he never plays there), for that I'd rather get Tomiyasu from Bologna that is also tall (188cm), strong, fast, strong in the air, technical and plays both CB and RB.

I wonder if he could manage the LWB position.

Tomiyasu, never heard of him. Maybe Nagatomo's heir?

Nope, different characteristics needed for a LWB role. We have to go for Alonso this summer.

But do we want another older player for the LWB position? And a pricey one at that?

Alonso is just 31, so has a good 2-3 seasons. Can't say about the cost, but he has barely played over the last year or more. That should help.

I think with Conte he can. He already did it. Even Hakimi and Perisic have become better defenders under Conte and Perisic has never really had to defend in his career. I dont think Alonso is the best option out there, but if we could get him for cheap I wouldnt say no.

But Perisic is super smart player. I can't say is Alonso smart but I wouldn't take the risk. He has a big salary and we intend to sign younger players from now on and dump out older ones. Alonso doesn't fit the plan.

Wilfried Singo of Torino for LWB. He is young enough to adapt.

Shalke already relegated from bundesliga, so maybe Kolasinac will be suitable for us as LWB) Also Bentaleb can be on CM position.

He does decent enough for WB role. One thing I like about Alonso is he has grinta. I don't know if he has enough stupidity in his play, like Theo does; I haven't seen that in the little I've seen of him.

It's conflicting reports regarding Dimarco. Some sourced claim it's 4.5m€ redemption for Verona and counter-redemption 6.5m€ for Inter (or around those figures). Then some sources claim it's 6m€ redemption and Inter have 50% sell-on clause, meaning we can get him for 50% sale. Also I think it depends on the player, not sure if he can block the option activation of Verona (in case we want to keep him). Or is it more beneficial for us to pay small premium to Verona for getting the plusvalenza for this season (they activate option in June, we buy him back in July with a little higher price).

As for Vanheusden, I've understood it's only gentleman agreement we get him back. We sold him for 12m€ and reports have stated the agreed price to get him back is much higher like 20m€ but I doubt it ends up being that high given Covid era and his poor injury record.

Then there is little chance to see one of those two next season, Conte will ask Suning for Emerson, he will even give an ultimatum I think. Most likely they will keep Lazaro, and take a free Nikola Maksimovic or Aïssa Mandi as a central defender, there are also options with cheap Fabian Schär and Shkodran Mustafi
Milan Skriniar(Danilo D'Ambrosio) Stefan de Vrij(Nikola Maksimovic) Alessandro Bastoni(Lorenzo Pirola)
Achraf Hakimi(Valentino Lazaro) Emerson Palmieri(Matteo Darmian)

Aissa Mandi is already Villarreal player. Maksimovic is so average as DeVrij cover, I'd happily leave this for Ranocchia.
