It's very unfortunate that Moussa marega a low cost option capable of playing second fiddle to lukaku, has signed for al hilal for free. We could've saved millions in wages(he won't earn more than 3m per year) rather than signing a 34-36 year old dzeko or giroud for tons of wages. And marega is even a lot younger, 30years. Go watch him play, his characteristics resembles that of lukaku better than Giroud's or dzeko's. It's hurts tbh, I've been yearning for his signing. We have the dumbest scouts and sporting director in football.

It's not about being close to the level of giroud or dzeko, it's about the amount involved in the deal and whether the player's ability has reached the minimum level of requirement needed for the backup role.
You know well that we are broke atm and trying to reduce wage cost of the team and then should we add 34-36 year old grioud dzeko on 5m-7m a year wages for 2-3years just to be backup for lukaku?. That's stupidity.
If you understand football enough you'll know well that there are some roles/players where a top class backup is needed for. For a role that is tiring and needs frequent rotation and resting to e.g. b2b role, wing back role, you'll need a very very good backup, but a role where it doesn't need so or a player who is not injury prone and needs only seldom rests, a top class backup is not needed, What you need is someone who will be able to play there without being shit, Just like how Bayern have choupo moting as lewandowski's backup or as we have rano for de vrij. Likewise, lukaku is a player who hardly gets injured as history shows and his role in Conte's system is not exhausting enough to be rested or substituted frequently, as a result we cannot sign a player on huge wages just to come and play 15 to 18 games (starting/substitution app combined) in a season. Aside from that, one could risk having dressing room issues by benching a big name player coz I doubt giroud or dzeko will be contented to eat bench just like rano or gags. We will end up having to replace them a year later after they are fed up with the little games they will be getting.

Have you ever seen him in last two seasons? He's done mate. I mean literally done! The Turkish league penaldo can do only kicking penalties. That's it! He cost Galatasaray 2 championships. That's why almost every Gala fan hates him and wanna get rid of him. I think his next destination will be Inter. Not our beloved one for sure. The one where based in Florida.

I would rather get the Egyptian Mostafa Mohamed from the same team. He's an underrated player worth watching. I believe that he can make the same impact at Inter what another Northern African Hakimi made.

I'd like to see us make a play for one of those 2.Don't think Papu will be too expensive. 5-8 mil should do it and surely his wages wont be like Alexis'. Only problem is how do we get rid of Alexis and who could take him?

Also whilst i get hate on Whatsapp for this i would still like us to consider players from clubs that have been relegated.Cornelius as Vice Lukaku and Gervinho can be considered.

Short term names like Gervinho,Papu and Ilicic will be cheaper than Giroud or Dzeko who will have higher wage demands.

And yes there are no good options but for the bench we dont really need a superstar so it will be okay.

I think we really a fast dribbling/defence ripping winger for our plan B. We've a lot of times where we suffered against teams who parks buses and tippers, this has been one of our major problem under conte and I think introducing a winger of this type will solve this situation.
