I am not buying this AND the situation with Conte. Either they have put discussions about Ndombele on hold or they have already made a decision about the coach situation.

Yea, because of the Conte situation all of our transfers should be put on hold, unfortunately. I also dont think giving them Skriniar is a good idea even if he had problems in a 3 man defense.

Why can't they have talks simultaneously while resolving Conte thing? If it looks darker in Conte front, they probably stop the negotiations for now. I don't think Ndombele is a pure request by Conte anyway, but a player the management has found out to be a good addition. Though probably not so if Levy doesn't come down with the price despite the player having a very confusing season.

They always play with two DMs, but they move forward a lot, because of the 4-4-2 Cholo plays. This year it has been usually Partey with Koke in the center of the midfield, but wingers are likes of Saul, so they overlap a lot. Imo he had his best game when paired with Herrera, or it was simply coz Herrera was shit

Partey is boss tbh. Arguably the best midfielder for Atletico in the past two season, and they have the likes of Saul, Koke and last year Rodri. He can also cover the RWB/RM/RB positions, has played quite a few times there. You can't expect him to score or assist much, but what he brings in the team is immense.

I "like" Atleti because I respect the work Simeone has done and because the enemy of my enemy is my friend etc (fuck Barca and Madrid, in that order).

Every team in the world has its bust transfers but that said, Atleti have made some fucking atrocious signings here and there. Gelson Martins, Lemar, Vitolo, Herrera, fucking Kalinic and the biggest piece of shit of them all, Morata. And their decisions to bring back Diego Costa, Carrasco and Fernando Torres back in the day were horrendous moves as well.
