Loved the Olympics, such a bummer no crowds were there or it would have been much, much better. I loved the volleyball action both for men's and long legs, will try and familiarize myself with the sport and try and follow it a bit. Never was a baseball watching fan but surprisingly was immersed in the gold medal's match.

Serbia seemed to do it exceptionally well from what I saw, yet the most important Serbian didn't manage a medal

They're not.

Medal table doesn't correlate with the sports in question.

Swimming for example gives out far too many medals. As do the athletics running competitions. Martial arts, wresting, weightlifting etc also provide a lot of medals, due to weight categories.


Sending more athletes, having better infrastructure and more sporting development helps a lot, so countries who have large enough populations and prioritize sports tend to hoard the medals.

Olympic men's football can only send under 24 squads(with 3 exceptions), as to avoid competition with FIFA.

Olympic men's football also isn't part of the FIFA Calendar, so clubs aren't obliged to send their players.

The Olympics is now over. Very proud of the Brazilian athletes in Tokyo 2020.

I know Brazil had a lot of athletes to be proud of at Tokyo Olympics, but I think there is a reason to be especially proud of Hebert Sousa who won the gold medal in boxing. If I am not mistaken it's first ever gold medal in boxing for Brazil at Olympic games and he won it in style by beating all the favorites along the way and KO'ing the #1 in the division in final bout. He was losing 2 rounds and it was final 3rd round where even if you win by points you are losing the fight 2-1 and the only way to turn it around was to KO the opponent. That was a brilliant left cross right in the chin.

It's a shame the Olympics didn't award the Val Barker Trophy for the best boxer at the Olympic games, he truly deserved it.

CJ Ujah's 'B' sample has tested positive hahaha, I mean don't get me wrong I feel sorry for the other 3 runners. What an absolute twat this guy is, I mean you can see the pure saturation in his arms when he runs I mentioned it to the wife at the time it looked like the kid was on roids.

Hardly see any coverage of this in the uk media, wonder why. Also wonder if they'll do a Rube and keep the medal count the same or deduct it off, not official yet but there is no way the commission allows them to keep the silver medals.

It's always great when someone Scottish wins something then all of a sudden they are English are the media once portrayed in Tennis with Andy Murray.

Yea she lived in England since she was 2, I just find it hard to support priveleged people who get everything handed to them.

That last comment does not takeaway the effort hard work and fantastic win Emma got at the US Open.
