FIF Special OnesI think it’s obvious we see Perisic as a way to reduce our salary bill. I think we would take an offer below his market value if it meant we could get his wage off the books and get someone on loan for less salary.

10 years of FIFForum SupporterI guess my point is, unless Alonso comes on a free loan, there is no way in that bringing him here is cheaper financially than one more season of Perisic. Especially when we would likely have to golden handshake Perisic to get rid of him, based on recent reports.

Best Overall PosterPlus Alonso is on high wages at Chelsea. Offloading Perisic for Telles or Kostic on loan can be understandable. But doing it for Alonso? It makes zero sense.

The time to get Alonso was 2 years ago. Now he doesn't make sense, his wages are too high - on a similar level as Perisic. And Euro Champion Emerson is too shite to pay 15m for. These deals will not happen. Marina doesn't do discounts and Marotta is a chronic miser. That is why despite targeting so many of their players, we got nada.

When it comes to RB signing, we will probably wait till mid-August since by then clubs might be willing to give played on dry loans. Now they don't accept loan offers.
We have just won Serie A, finally assembled a squad who can challenge and find the club finances have mismanaged or PRC refuse to allow money to be moved to invest in the squad which is hindering any chance of defending the title.
Selling one of the major positives in our team with Hakimi and doing nothing to address this need or even try a find a replacement is disconcerting. And now talk of Toro being sold, any supporter would feel some sort of angst. Do you not agree?

80m was the pass mark, now with the sale of big rom there is no excuse to find a RB, and if necessary a LB as well.

Dumfries isn't anyone's dream signing. People want him because the alternatives are even worse. Could we get someone better than Dumfries with 15m? I seriously doubt that.
