Apparently the relationship between Thuram and Borussia is nearly over. Thuram showed no motivation the last few games and on transfermarkt someone posted a fake done deal by Romano and the fans on transfermarkt celebrated like crazy.

I really think that right now we could get him even under 15 million - concerning his age and potential - a very good price imho.

In a world where Pinamonti is worth 20 millions and this Scamacca dude even 45 million, paying 10-15 million for Thuram is a good deal. He is still Borussia's best player in terms of market value (28 million, highest point was even 40 million) and that with having the likes of Zakaria, Ginter and Neuhaus in the same team.

I agree, he is no worldbeater, but that's is shown in the rumoured fee. He is fast, isn't shy of dribbling past an opponent, good at header, can win penalties (not like Lautaro with his stupid dives). Imho he could benefit a lot from Inzaghi and his teammates.

There is lots of upsides and even the downsides aren't too high. If he fails, we would get at least our money back by selling him to teams like Genua

I read Thuram was a target for us in the summer ages back, I don't really get it tbh, same with Correa, doesn't tactically make sense.

I like Thuram, his versatility and height could be very useful coming from the bench and i can see him doing well under Inzaghi. But a move for him doesn't make a lot of sense since we already have Correa. Unless fee is ridiculously low (5-10m) we better save our limited funds for a Dzeko replacement/backup.

If we get him or not, Marotta is playing a good game. Many players know we want them years before we actually make a move.
We can make a move or not. It is a big advantage, if player feels wanted in a club he is joining. That's actually a secret of Marotta brilliant moves. He thinks ahead of others. Then, when player turns good, many clubs show interest, but player is already set in his head to go to the club who wanted him first.

its like Correa deal, the moment we sign him I could already see how stuck we are with him, no one is paying nearly as much as we paid and he wont be a game changer.
I would rather splash a 20 mil for some prospect than buying players like Vecino that are just a number on bench and yet you cant count on him...

Pedulla said we were following Scamacca since last august. Di Marzio is saying both Inter and Juve want him as the striker for the future and Sassuolo want over 40M for him.

I wouldnt even take him for 30M. Other than a good shot from outside, he looks like Pinamonti out there. Fratessi and Raspadori should be our priorities if we are buying anyone from Sassuolo.

As long as Inter get Frattesi, Juve can have Scamacca for the reported figures. Anything over 25m, even with counterparts, for him is plain ridiculous.

If I remember correctly we had to sell for 80 million last summer didn’t we? The Hakimi and Politano sale would have covered that. We sold Lukaku only because he really wanted to go to Chelsea or wanted a new contract, otherwise he would have stayed? So the 115 million we’ve got for Lukaku wasn’t necessary to achieve our financial goals.

I am wondering why we didn’t invest that money on a quality Lukaku replacement for the long term. And I’m wondering why we can’t invest that money next summer? I mean what would Vlahovic cost us with his one year contract? 60 million transfer fee and 7 mil a year or something like that? If the rumors are true Juve are in the race to sign him. I just can’t believe we aren’t considering him and Juve are… Especially if we win another Scudetto ad Juve miss out on top-4.

Maybe Inter and Juve see Scamacca to be the next Vlahovic before he becomes the next Vlahovic. In terms of let's buy this kid before he becomes 60-70m€ player. I doubt he becomes that good but I can see the logic. And like talked million times in this thread, in counterpart deals you profit with inflated prices of your counterparts (in comparison trying to sell your countepart players in cash, I can tell you it's hard to sell to lesser Italian clubs expecting back actual euros).

Sorry, i thought the financial part was relevant because i was talking about the sum received and the (rumoured) price of two forwards.

I share your opinion about buying someone before they reach a pricetag of 60-70 million. That's the way Inter should go imo. But real exceptional forwards come with a heavy pricetag. I for once believe Inter should have at least two of them (given our current set up). I don't rate Scamacca as a player who could ever lead Inters attacking line.

I also doubt Sassuolo would accept something like 20 million + Pinamonti. If, and thats a big if, Sassuolo would like Pinamonti as a counterpart, the cash involved would be a minimum of 30 million i think.

Financials are relevant for sure but the discussion about our funds we've generated last summer is better to be discussed in the financial thread.

I have hard time believing Sassuolo will be enable to get even 30m€ in cash + counterparts for Scamacca. Or the deal has to be very favourable with the payment schedule and loan structure and what not.
