If we can pull off 25 million or 30 million plus Pinamonti, sure. But as I've discussed at nauseum, I can't envision a scenario where we sell Pinamonti outright given his wages.

Reports seem to indicate Marotta wants to buy more Italian players. I don't think this has anything to do with nationalism, but rather economics. Italian players are more likely to want to stay in Serie A. Serie A transfers demand lower wages than signing players from abroad (see: Sanchez). Paying a small price premium in transfer fees could help save more money long term, assuming the player works out.

Yeah I think the Italian player thing is multifaceted. They’re “cheaper” to buy because you can insert counterparts. They typically demand less salary. And they are probably not going to force their way out to go join a powerhouse club like Real, Barca, etc.

Also I think there is some added benefit sporting wise to having the dominant culture in the dressing room be the same as the country the club is located in. It forces players to acclimate to the country quicker (learn the language). It also makes it easier for them to form a tight knit unit.

Inter's rumoured offer of 45m includes Pinamonti (valued at 20m) and Pirola so it isn't as bad as it sounds. I would still prefer spending 20m on Alvarez instead.

I honestly like Scamacca and I didn't get the hate when we first got interested in him last summer. I tried to figure out why I was seeing him wrong, but he's just really a good player. The question is his ceiling. At the moment he's a quality 3rd choice striker. Can he be the main guy?

Raspadori on the other hand while I acknowledge is a great talent, I feel he suffers from being positionless in this era. But he'd make a quality trequarista 25 years ago.

Been following Julian Alvarez since his beginnings as I tend to follow River Plate a lot. Always liked the guy but I'm not sure if he has Lautaro kind of ceiling. I believe he needs to be tested at a higher level first. Lautaro showed glimpses that he got it. Alvarez on the other hand reminds me of a more plethoric Lucas Alario, who's not really been taking over the world since his transfer to Leverkusen. Alvarez should be going to a top half club initially but the hype and money the top clubs have will potentially ruin his career (imagine him ending up at Man Utd for example, poor guy). If he has a proper agent and guidance, he'll move to Sevilla or Villarreal or something. Or Roma or Lazio, those kind of teams. Or Fiorentina once Vlahovic is sold.

The whole league suffers as a result. For example, Julio Cruz was a Champions League player back in the late 90s (gobbi killer since then), moved to Bologna who weren't really a top side, then became a club icon at Inter. Only Sampdoria and Udinese bring foreign talents in Italy these days and Sassuolo mostly brings up domestic talent. Serie A experience is important, especially as the league is less watched than ever.

Saying this, I think the safest choice for a 4th striker (assuming we're stuck with Lautaro as primary, with Dzeko and Scamacca as 2nd/3rd options and Sanchez probably gone) would be someone like Giovanni Simeone. Would love to be part of the club his dad played for, the champs of Italy (hopefully) and won't really expect to be a starter. A modern day Julio Cruz perhaps.

Do you guys really expect a Lautaro Martinez & Julian Alvarez duo to pan out for 2022-23? I feel the risk level is too high. And the management is aware of this. We are following the guy but unless he ends up at Manchester City or United or Barcelona, I think we will be able to poach him a couple of seasons later if he's legit.

Our next forward will definitely be Italian. Whether that's Scamacca, Belotti or Raspadori is what remains to be seen. And I see us trying to get a backup striker for the winter window if we can offload a couple of players. Hopefully one that won't stick around for too long if it's something like Petagna or Caicedo.

I think nothing much will change in the offense next season: Lautaro (Correa) Dzeko (Belotti)
But the defensive and midfield lines could change a lot with some players in the reserves who can compete for the main role.

The Guardia di Finanza investigating us for using Pinamonti in an inflated plusvalenza deal when we turn around and value Pinamonti for €20m as part of a deal for Scamacca:

Let's add Sensi (valued at 15m) and Gagliardini (valued at 10m) into the deal and get Scamacca for free.

This is another 4D chess 300IQ move from Marotta. You guys are not smart enough to understand it.

Remember that time when we sold Pinamonti to Genoa for 19m? Yes, that deal is under investigation too. So how do we prove to them that the valuation was legit? Easy we sell him again. See Guardia di Finanza, we will sell Pinamonti for 20m and that will put his valuation beyond any doubts lmao.

The irony is that those 3 players are all different from each other. Do we really know what type of forward we want ?
Yeah. I haven’t heard any serious links to a transfer for David or Alvarez in a while. Makes you wonder if they just recycle rumors to throw names around. We were also heavily linked to Thuram so I wouldn’t be shocked to see those rumors creeping up.

I feel like last summer was the time to get Scamacca. Now he’s hitting a good patch of form and possibly pricing himself out of our range. We can’t splash €40m on a guy without him almost being a sure thing. Maybe we can include Pinamonti to bring the price down.
Correct. I`ve read that Sassuolo like both Pinamonti and Pirola.

Same kind of deal to over-inflate players in exchange, that`s why you are reading about €45M nowadays for Scamacca.

I really like Scamacca but 45m is just too much. 40m including Pinamonti tho is a different discussion, depend on the valuation of Pina.
Pinamonti is rated 20-25M by Inter, Sassuolo still needs to agree to the valuations of course.

Tancredi Palmeri says Marotta is disturbing Juve’s renewal with Dybala - offering what is essentially Sanchez’ wages when he leaves and a higher commission to his agent.
All apparently very preliminary.

I’m fairly sure Tancredi is a shit-tier source but this is the kind of move the champion of the league should be doing. Weaken and disturb the competition to open a cycle. We robbed Hakan, we took Dzeko, let’s keep it going.
Yesssss, I was thinking of this! But Dybala will just use it to get a higher contract, which is probably Marotta`s intention 😅 IMO Dybala does not have the balls to switch over ;)

Scamacca is top priority for rube. So consider that done deal. Another loan deal for scum.
Yes LOL, now that Marotta started chasing him since summer. If Marotta wants Scamacca, he will get him.
Make no mistake: we purposely let Tonali go and were never really interested in Locatelli.

Yes, we do. However not sure about so-called "journalists" nowadays.

We are preparing for life after Dzeko (so would be good to sign a towering striker like Vlahovic/Scamacca in summer of 2022, so he can gradually grow into the role).
And we are preparing for life after Sanchez (technical player to unlock defences, think Alvarez/Raspadori).

are you sure about this? If I remember correctly later one only wanted Juve, the first one we had agreement but as soon as Milan moved for him we had no chance because he also preferred Milan.

This came to my mind immediately after that Scamacca rumor. :D Would be so hilarious.

But really, people should not get attached to the numbers players are valued. Like thatude pointed out, in Italian market counterparts are used heavily (to generate false plusvalenza ding ding ding!) so the player valuations are overblown. The cash part is the important in these deals. And think about it this way, how much CASH could we get by selling Pinamonti? No club pays 15m€ for him. Maybe 10m€? I mean in real cash, euros to the bank account without a gentlemen agreement of getting it back year later. Specially given his salary, 10m€ sounds the maximum ceiling at the moment.

So if we put in Pinamonti + 20m€ in cash for Scamacca, that's basically 30m€ for Scamacca. Is that too much? I don't know, maybe? But this season Scamacca has shown he can score, he can score against bigger sides and he can play the target guy. His shot is a fucking cannon.

Yeah, we had Tonali locked with Brescia long before Milan. We also had Roma`s Marash Kumbulla locked. Then Conte pushed for more experienced players to win ASAP and we went for Vidal & co.

Italian forward incoming that`s 100%: Scamacca/Belotti and perhaps Raspadori/Insigne.
