According to GdS, Alvarez agent is expected in Milan to hold talks with Inter (and Milan). The competition is heavy but Inter feel they're in good position.
Which Alvarez? I haven't been paying much attention to all the Alvarezes and I feel like there are three different ones

Is he a Toro alike kind of striker?
Nope.

He's a "classic" #9. Fairly typical Argentinean striker, the sort of Crespo, Milito, Balbo etc. No idea if his ceiling is as high. I liked Alario a lot who is very similar but he hasn't transitioned well in Europe, I suppose it's about personalities and where you end up.

edit: Just to clarify what this means. Basically a recent example would be Gonzalo Higuain.

So a striker who can dribble, shoot from relative distance (just outside the box), beat a defender, is good in the air as well as with the feet, knows how to move with and without the ball and can beat the offside trap.

So in a good environment he could score a shitload, but he's not your natural killer in the box.

And I view Lautaro as a different kind of striker, as while he can do lots of those things, he seems more confident with a ball outside the box than inside it.

Tbh most rumours about Alvarez and Man Utd are coming from South America. So far there are no confirmations in England about it.

3 of his goals are PK's while all of Scamacca's are form open play if you want to sit there ant nitpick, but really who cares? No one rates Pinamonti other than Inter fans trying to pawn him off for better players. If we can find some sucker team out there that actually values him at 20mil then we should tear their arm off
So what if 3 are PKs? That's a skill in it self that inter fans should at least appreciate with our current PKs issues, no?

I'm not saying Pina is a world class talent, but at least he has more goals in his serie a career than Scamacca probably have which should somehow reflect the price tag imo.

Whether Scamacca fulfills his potential or not, there's a reason there's been a lot of hype behind him for many years. He plays with a technicality and finesse which Pinamonti simply lacks. It's very evident from the way he plays and the kinds of goals he's scored.

Pinamonti is pretty strong but that’s really it. His skill set is pretty limited and even Cutrone appears a much more dynamic player when you see the two of them at Empoli.

It’s the simple eye test that does it. Scamacca is simply leagues above Pinamonti when it comes to skill, technicality and presence.

Like Scamacca, this Julian Alvarez kid looks like another who can actually put his foot through the ball with some modicum of accuracy, unlike Barella and Lautaro.

Fuck it, go for it. Last 20m gamble from Argentina turned out alright.

I'm in agreement with you, 20m for Andrea and we are laughing all the way to the bank, Scamacca is preferable over Pina.

Scamacca and Alvarez cannot be in competition for a spot at Inter. Just checked the kid and he's fucking 1.7-1.73m tall (depending on the source). Scamacca is over 1.9m. Alvarez cannot be an understudy of Dzeko.

Scamacca is vice Džeko, clearly. It's hard to say how many season Džeko has in his tank.

With Alvarez I have no clue what kind of player he is.

We already have our quota of constantly injured players filled. He's worse than young Robben in that regard
