Handanovic is still a very very solid GK at the moment. He made some mistakes but every GK does. In all the matches I watched this season (i missed a few one at the beginning), he didn’t have one bad game.

There are very few GKs that I would trust more than Handanovic, and all of them will cost much more. We are not Mancity or Chelsea who can throw 50-70m or more at GKs. Oblak is better? Athletico madrid asks for 100m. Donnarumma earns 10-12m per year at PSG. In term of value for money, I can’t see anyone better than Handanovic. Tell me someone who is better than Handanovic that we can afford with our budget? And please make sure you followed and watched them in football matches, not youtube highlights.

Goalkeepers is one of the few positions we have never failed investments in. I am afraid Onana might be the 1st time though , i really don't like how he has handled the last months with Ajax both as a football player and as a person.
That said , i do believe that he comes with a lot of skills and potential that can be nurtured from Italian GK coaches. If we can use next year to teach him how to use his explosiveness without becoming a liability we might not need to worry about Handas replacement.

Frey. Pretty sure he counts as a failure.
