Exactly that. We go for him because we can get euro experienced keeper with such the agent fee paid. 14 EL games, 24 CL games.

I'm sure we will go for a better keeper if one becomes available AND we have funds for that.

PSV did replaced him but that guy isn't the NT keeper. That's a young guy from Feyenoord and on the EC it was Stekelenburg(who stopped playing for Holland after the EC). I would even prefer to guy for Bijlow(NT keeper, young player of Feyenoord). And Onana doesn't speak Dutch, he speaks English, Spanish and I guess French because he was borned in Cameroon? But I don't think I've ever heard him speaking Dutch.
He's been in holland since 2015, surely he knows a word or two, enough to communicate with his team mates. Enough to communicate with DeVrij. We don't need him to give an hour long lecture on quantum mechanics.

I'm sure we will go for a better keeper if one becomes available AND we have funds for that.
What better keeper? Unless you've have the next Oblak lined up, this is as good as it gets. 25 now, will easily be a top 5-10 in his peak. At the very worst case we get a prime-level Vermeer which we can live with until we scout a better keeper.

I just don't get the fuss about Onana. He has super reflexes but that's it from a very top level.
That's not true:
-shot stopping 9/10
-passing/distribution (either feet, short or long) 9/10
-1v1 ability 9/10
-speed off the line 10/10
This is at the UCL level.

Where Onana lacks:
-positioning (hard to gauge because of his reflexes)
-command of the box (7.5/10, bit too eccentric but good communicator )
-decision making (7/10, too aggressive off the line)
-claiming/catching crosses (prefers to punch the ball smh) 7/10

Most of these can be sorted out with good coaching and experience.

It looks like you're partial to a safe/conventional keeper, fundamentally sound etc, those are few and far between at an elite level and this but this sweeper keeper is the direction we're headed in unfortunately.

I wish we could get Onana this January so it's already lock and signed plus spends 1 year being part of the squad.

Yeah esp since he hasn't played for awhile. Onana'll definitely need an adjust period. And I'd also like Handa around to provide guidance and counsel. As a keeper/captain I think this will be important.

Haven't seen him in action, is he really that good? I mean to replace prime Handa?

Can't tell if you're joking but this is the furthest thing from "prime Handa".

He's good enough to be better than Frey was here, but not good enough to be Inter's #1 for years.

I mean if we are to replace then we must look for someone who can replace prime Handa, not the Handa we have now

Over the next 5 years the best keepers are likely going to be: Oblak, Courtois, Donnarumma and ter Stegen, with Ederson, Mendy and Maignan a tier lower but good enough for a team with trophy-winning aspiration. I'm thinking Onana fits in with the aforementioned quite comfortably. You don't think that's good enough for Inter especially given our current starting 11 (Hakan, Darmian, etc.)?

Haha Courtois kind of sucks.

Oblak was my choice as our next keeper but he going to cost a crap ton and is 29 come January…

would have been awesome to get Donnarumma for free tho.

everyone else you mentioned are just ok. Nothing earth changing or for us to drop a ton of money for.

Courtois just massively saved Real Madrid from being gang-raped by Inter. If he sucks, than most gks suck.

Damn being a goalkeeper is a thankless job
Messi sucks, Courtois sucks, Falcao rules. Sounds legit.

To be the devil's advocate - He did have a bad first season at Real Madrid, sure. But overall, every other time I saw him, he was actually pretty good

Would be a great choice. I'm hoping Inter can get to an agreement with Ajax so he can join Inter in the winter. But looking at the way he treated Ajax I don't think Ajax will let hem go easily or at all. He's now training with Jong Ajax (second team of Ajax who plays in the first division) but they did sign him in for the CL and until a week ago they were still hoping he would extend his contract.

One of the worst posts I’ve read here. Courtois is arguably the best keeper in the world and has been for the last 2-3 years, only Oblak is alongside him.

You mentioned Oblak and Donnarumma: you think this is 1998 Inter? Reality check we haven’t attracted an established world class player to this club since Eto’o and even that was a swap deal

I'd say Oblak is #1 mainly due to his consistency last 5 years, not many keepers in recent memory have managed to maintain such a high-level for so long.

Neuer would be #2 then Courtois #3.
