given he's on 59 at the moment he'd need one hell of a season to get to 100. Not impossible, though. I guess Atalanta have good cuase to get him to 100, even if it means sub ons when he's been rotated.

It's 41 games. That's pretty much the standard for one season.

We had 9 players with 41+ appearances last season and we were ousted from Europe after 6 games. Atalanta had 10 players, Pessina was close and that's with Ilicic taking time off and Gomez who was on track for 40+ leaving halfway.

If he has a great season, 41 appearances or not, he's probably leaving Atalanta, clause or no clause. The offer is probably going to be very enticing.

Yeah, if Atalanta make the knock outs in the CL They've got 6+2+38+say 3 coppa italia games - 47. He has to be fit for 41 of them. Like I said, in reality, they'll probably sub him on anyway - 50% clause is very compelling for him to waste time at the end of any match he's benched for.

Someone explain this clause to me - Atalanta will have to pay 50% of Pessina's transfer fee to Milan IF they sell him before 100 appearances?

Seems so - bear in mind Atalanta paid (by the looks of it) about 2m euros for him, it might have been Milan's way of future proofing in case he 'got good', with the idea that if he exploded, Atalanta would sell soon so that they could take half the fee, and if he flopped, they'd get a small cut of whatever he was worth.

Think of it kind of like a co-ownership by the backdoor.

Presumably Atalanta wouldnt agree to open ended 50%, so they put in a sunset clause.

if we don't have money for Brozovic's new contract how we can afford Pjanic's wages? And Brozović is much better player in my opinion, more hard-working, younger and developed by Inter, not Juve's mercenary. The most logical move is to extend Brozo's contract.

If we hadn't signed Hakan i would be in favor of Pjanic. But i am not fond of using him as a regista. He isn't fit for the role.

If Inzaghi wants someone like Luis Alberto, we should really keep our eyes on Coutinho's situations, I strongly believe Barca will agree a free loan with them paying most of the wage ala Sanchez.

We don’t have a Brozo back up so it kind of makes sense, however I really don’t want Pjanic. We need someone who can actually defend in that position as a back up. We already have a “regista” type.

Pjanic.. If we're trying to collect punchable guys that can score from the free kicks their annoying face will earn, we're on the right track.

+1 on Pjanic. Not a world class player, but he knows how to put a few passes together. Juve's midfield looked like shit and completely lost when they sold him.

There's a rumor Pjanic has an agreement with Juve for a loan deal with 20% wage cut. That's still like 6m net.

We won't add such number to the bench after adding Dzeko with such number to the bench. :D Only if we end of selling Brozovic.

It was mentioned in his thread, something about cancelling a contract due to his inability to play and getting insurance money instead of a transfer fee.

Either way, him going back to Ajax and Inter getting another player off the books seems like the best outcome for everyone involved.
