Frattesi, Maggiore and Ricci would be excellent transfers for Udinese or Bologna. For Inter, it's just fucking depressing.
Naw this is the direction we’re most likely heading. We will be buying younger players with some promise the same way we did Barella, Bastoni and Lautaro. Some will pan out and some will be Gagliardini’s. We were trying to do this with Tonali and Kumbulla but obviously diverted from that path for reasons that have been discussed at length on this forum.

However, one of the benefits of having Inzaghi from managements perspective is he won’t bitch. He will take was Marotta/Ausilio give him and do his best to make it work. Realistically this is our path forward if we want to remain competitive because we can’t buy players that have already broken through.

I am in favor of Frattesi for a reasonable price but not so much on Maggiore. The fact he's an Interista is great and all but i don't see high potential in him. I would prefer investing on Samuele Ricci of Empoli.
Why not bring all 3?

Frattesi and Maggiore play the Mezzala, meanwhile Ricci is a Regista. And with the departure of Vecino, Vidal and hopefully Gagliardini we do need all those roles covered.

I don't think Calhanoglu will maintain this level of performances and I honestly think one of Frattesi and Maggiore will overtake him eventually.

As much as it would be appealing to get rid of all 3 at once, I would be afraid of the experience we would lose if we replaced them with 3 kids. It’s tough to win with kids. Vidal especially does bring some mentality to the squad.

Frattesi & Ricci are talented kids, but obviously no one is talking about them as starters for Inter yet. Much rather have one of them as back up than say Gagliardini.
So the hope is these kids will develop at Inter?

I guess depends on the cost but personally I'd leave the developing and nurturing to Atalanta/Lazio/Roma/Fiorentina, inter is not the place for that. We have to keep in mind our objective is consistent UCL qualification and progression into R16. Are the inexperienced Frattesi and Ricci expected to help achieve that?

Realistically this is our path forward if we want to remain competitive because we can’t buy players that have already broken through.
We just bought Onana and Kostic, Hakan, Darmian the season before.

Agree only for Vidal. I don't care if we replace the other two with inexperienced kids, as they offer nothing anyway. We have enough experience with Hakan, Brozo and Barella (the latter is still young, but experienced enough).

those players are new-5 years (1996-2000, 2000s born) generation Italy have. Time changes. New generation always born They are not really marketable but they could bring more quality game than Vecino and Gagliardini. imo Frattesi from those three has a solid season so far.

We were saying the same for Skriniar, Sensi and Barella... Granted that Sensi was at his 150% for only 1.5 months, but still, he showed that he was worth it, it just didn't pan out.

Inter are in talks with Barcelona about Coutinho, Marotta explored this possibility in the summer but Sanchez remained unmoved. Now much has changed, the player has already agreed to return, and Barcelona is ready to get rid of the player on any terms.Inter is looking for just such opportunities.Nothing can be ruled out, but the player is really being monitored.

We didn’t buy Onana or Hakan, we signed them on a bosman which is very different. Younger signings and free agent signings will be two important pillars of our transfer strategy moving forward. Then we will look for opportunities like Kostic, who is 29 and contract is running down.

My point is we won’t be able to buy players in their prime who already have a lot of competition in the market. The Lukaku and Hakimi type of transfers aren’t realistic the way things are currently.

Coutinho is earning 22m gross. He needs to halve his salary to be in our affordable range. Not happening.

Coutinho would be like 4m net at most for us to be realistic. I dont even know where we'd play him in this formation.

Barcelona could pay a large percentage of his salary. They are ready to get rid of him on any terms, if he will be on the field in Barcelona, will have to pay Liverpool for the transfers, the bonus that was spelled out in the transfer contract.

I think his contract expires in two seasons time so the real question is what he would accept longer term

I agree with @thatdude. Investing in unproven youth who show some promise is the only way forward. We will obviously keep an eye on the free agency and any market opportunities about players who don't get playing time at top sides but we can't always count on that. 2022 free agency is a good one but it won't always be the case. For example, there weren't many good options in free agency last summer. Another thing is we have an ageing squad so we need to rejuvenate. We can't afford signing established youngsters so we need to go after players who are one step below. Obviously we can't offload all of Vidal, Vecino and Gagliardini, replace them with youth and expect them to perform from the get-go. We need a mix of experience and youth, our scouting needs to be top-notch and we need to give time to these kids to develop. But there's no other option. The times we spent 40m or more on players are over.

Guys like Onana and Kostic are special cases. Onana is a free signing while Kostic has only one year left in his contract. Under normal circumstances we simply can't afford them.

The problem with that is the assumption on our scouts. We can spend millions at youth level and those guys fail to even be professional footballers..

Ah cool, gotcha. But quality young signings like Locatelli and Raspadori go for like 40M, anyone below 20M is likely garbage. If we invest in these kids and they fail what will we do with them? Endless loans until their contracts are up?

I agree with @thatdude. Investing in unproven youth who show some promise is the only way forward.
This reminds me of Moratti's youth policy which was an outright disaster.... Last 20 years how many unproven youth have we developed into first time regulars? Even Bastoni cost 30M and we got lucky with him. Meanwhile we let go of Zaniolo for practically nothing  I think it's a systematic problem with us in which case we need to uproot our entire scouting team and rebuild. But that's a long term project which won't garner results for another 5-10 years which will see us slide to a middle table club. Fuck the kids IMO.

We will obviously keep an eye on the free agency and any market opportunities about players who don't get playing time at top sides but we can't always count on that. 2022 free agency is a good one but it won't always be the case.
2023 free agency = Koulibaly, Jorginho, Fabian Ruiz, Gosens, Malinovskyi, Akanji, to name a few. 2024: SMS, Zelinski, Kovacic, Zaniolo, Veretout, again, to name a few. It's just a matter of getting at the player or their agents during the international break and line up a future transfer. And obviously....

We're a top 3 Italian team with a better chance of trophies than 80-85% of the league, it shouldn't be hard for players to figure they want to join us and collude with their agents to engineer a future move.

Only Vidal brings something to the table imo even though what he gets is much more than what he brings to us. Also all of Barella, Brozo and Calhanoglu will be one year more experienced which means we will have the right balance.
