My only concern with Kostic is if he will put in the work defensively. When I’ve seen him play for Eintracht he basically gets to be like a free player, which is understandable because he’s so influential to the way they play. A lot of the attacks go through him so he is the big fish, will he track back and block shots against Atalanta like Perisic?

Yeah I wonder if the two could play together.

Who could play together? If Kostic is signed, he's gonna be LWB, just like Perisic is LWB.

Could throw Perisic up front. I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned more often considering our issues there.

If the rumours of Kolarov retirement are true then we need to sign a Perisic backup in January, even if he is a stop gap. Especially since Inzaghi sees Dimarco more as a lcb.

As for Kostic, no chance Inter sign him on loan with option to buy. The guy is Eintracht best player and he basically runs their attack. Unless the club is willing to overpay, Kostic can only be a target for the summer.

Don't really get all these talks about signing a LWB when we have more urgent needs somewhere else. Darmian and Dimarco can be used as vice Perisic, even if Inzaghi sees the latter as more of a LCB. We need a midfielder and a forward more than we need a LWB, even if Correa comeback in 20 days we can't trust our forwards to stay healthy till the end of season, as all of them dealed with injuries since the start of the season, specially Correa and Sanchez.

I'm wondering are we buying him permanently in this window. Loan + option indeed doesn't seem reasonable fro Frankfurt at all.

i am pretty sure we will promise them that we will buy him at the end of the year. So something like a 1M for the loan and 10-15M to buy in June.

Indeed, he is Frankfurt's regular starter, unless Kostič the one who pushes the move, by having Alessandro Lucci as his agent probably says it all.
As a side note, Lucci is also Kolarov's agent.

Yeah, and Dzeko's, Correa's and Vecino's.

Yeah, and Dzeko's, Correa's and Vecino's.
I think that guy clearly knows our views on Kolarov, Vecino, and Correa's situation and could hold the key for our winter mercato. He knew we had to open a slot to register new players, and the main candidate are his clients.
Signing Kostič would practically patch three positions. LCB for Dimarco, LWB for him, and SS role for Perisic when needed.

Kostić has contract till 2023, so loan with option sounds unrealistically. He was close to Lazio in the summer and the reported fee was about 11-12 mln euro. His current value would be about 10 mln imo. I think it's sad that after summer's departures, qualification to the next round of Champions League and being top of the table (which means that we'll almost for sure qualify to the next Champions League edition) we cannot afford buying such player.
Perisić will surely leave in the summer, so we'll need two new left wingbacks, so it makes a lot of sense to get at least one now and give him time to adjust.
