What a shitty game to watch. Senegal deserved it to win it but I didn't really like the tournament. (No I'm not comparing it to the Euros or World Cup). But I always had the feeling this tournament wasn't effect by the boring European tactical discipline etc. I watched both semi-finals as the final and they were quite boring, very defensive football, which is a shame because every country has great attacking players so how come the tournament wasn't really watch-worthy?

Semi finals are never exciting then add Egypt playing catenacio and its even worse. Pitches didn't help either.

True indeed and I felt that the referees had also a part in the games being slow because they whistled many times for small fouls etc. Games never really got going. It was a shame how Egypt played they never had any intention of playing football just tried to slow down the game for 120 minutes and win on penalties.

Maybe I'm putting it the wrong way: The continent Africa produced very good and attractive players in terms of style etc yet imo we didn't saw it enough. I just expected more from the games, not necessarily goals but just entertainment.
