30 degrees with humidity and tropical rain qualifies as too fucking hot.

Ask the players if they liked the Egypt edition playing at 40 degrees...

and since you like articles about stuff:

In my eyes the European clubs (and media) have every right to question the participation of players who earn millions in Europe. I understand that because of the weather a tournament like the Africa Cup can only be hosted in January/February. But in the last ten years there have been three European Championships (after) the season in Europe has ended (2012, 2016 and 2021). In the same time there has been five Africa cups (2012, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019). Now there is another 2022 and the next will be in the year 2023.

Reading comments form Ian Wright that the coverage of the Africa Cup is rasicst, is ridiculous. Just take a look what the clubs and fans say about the new WC plans: Players are already playing too much games, the value of a big tournament that is played every second year declines etc. And to say that the EURO 2021 wasn't criticised because it was played in the middle of a pandemic is just not true.

The afcon has always been every 2 years since inception, it is also older then the euro's. It's pure European arrogance to expect afcon to change its format cause the eu clubs don't like it.

I know and I've never read a club asking for a change of that. But the clubs have every right to criticise it. Six tournaments from 2012 to 2022? Come on ... What has that to do with arrogance (or even racism)?

Just look at the arguments againt a World Cup every second years: Money aside, they're basically the same.

Expecting Africa to follow the same formula as other tournaments is arrogance. African fans like the tournament every 2 years and it has been this way since 1957. Every heard any African fan or administrator trying to tell the eu how to organize their tournaments...

  1. I'm still waiting for you to tell me a club that has asked for a change of the 2 year rhythm of the Africa Cup.
  2. Tell me an European player who earns millions from an African club! Why should any African administrator has a problem with the EURO every four year.

1.I have never claimed it was European clubs..You only need to read the comments from eu football journos and fans to see the arrogance. ..
2. Africa doesn't try to interfere with the way eu tries to run their comps. They should africa the same respect.

1. Football journalists make a living from writing stuff about football. And I don't get how this has to do with arrogance or interference, but I think it's legit to criticise a big tournament in the middle of a pandemic, especially when many of its participants make millions from clubs who are in the middle of the season. And it's not like ONLY the Africa Cup is criticised. Just look how many journalists wanted the World Darts Championship cancelled. Or criticised the EURO or even the Olympic Games.

2. Many fans of European clubs criticise that the African Cup is played every second year (or even more often) in the middle of the season. It has always been like that, yes. The African Cup is older than the EURO, yes. But I'd be hella pissed if Inter would miss players like Salah, Mane or Keita in the middle of the season so often. Or lose four players like Napoli. But how many fans, clubs, journalists and even players criticise that there are too many games anyway? I'm also hella pissed everytime Sanchez returns with a injury from his NT and I don't care if he plays for Chile, Italy or Austria. I'm also pissed when Barella plays for Italy although you can see his engine is empty. What has this to do with arrogance? I for myself also think the value of a tournament that is played every four year is bigger than of a tournament that is played every second year (and I'm not alone with that as you can see from the discussions about the new plans for the World Cup). It has also nothing to do with arrogance.

3. Why should African clubs, fans etc. criticise the EURO or try to interfere? I doubt that any player from the EURO plays for an African team and earns millions. This you can call arrogance if you want. :p

Cameroon and Morocco should be through to round of 16. Group B will go down to the wire.

Egypt haven't looked impressive. Salah scored last night but was invisible for 90% of the game.

Their team isn't so strong, they don't look great. Opening day defeat was hard to watch.
