We have enough to offer de Vrij and D'Ambrosio 2 year renewals each, plus a 33 year old Smalling a salary 25% greater than what Skriniar is currently earning Not to mention enough to make Lukaku the highest paid player in the league.

One can argue at this point it's too late anyway, but the point is we should've offered him more, earlier. And if reports are to be believed, "more" was only €1m back when we were negotiating terms.
