SMALLING AGREES NEW CONTRACT WITH ROMA

Chris Smalling has reportedly agreed to sign a new contract with Roma following a meeting with his agent.

The 33-year-old English defender’s current deal expires with the Giallorossi at the end of this season and there’s been much speculation about his future, with Inter seemingly keen on picking up the former Manchester United man.

His agent James Featherstone arrived in the Italian capital earlier this week to try and iron out a new deal for the centre back, and things went well.

Corriere dello Sport reports that Smalling has now agreed to sign a new two-year contract, extending his stay with Roma to June 2025.

The club’s management raised their offer to get a deal across the line, agreeing to pay a slightly lower salary compared to his current contract. He will now earn around €3.5m net per season plus add-ons.

Smalling will formally sign the contract in the coming weeks, happy to close out his career in the Italian capital.

3.5M + bonuses is not cheap at all, especially for 2 years.

This just further increases the chances of the De Vrij extension.

Christensen is their stater, played the season without a single mistake, and if they decide to sell him, it will be to Premier League to gain cash, they will not be interested in swapping him for our player because they are broke as us also.

Araujo is on the top 5 defenders in the world with ease, no way they are selling him.

Kessie is probably on his way to Premier League also, they need cash as we need oxygen.

Alonso on the other hand, he is okay as CB in back of 3, shit as LB, but he signed new contract before few months so...But on other hand Barca signed Inigo Martinez so someone will go, but definitely not Araujo...Maybe Christensen so they can make plusvalenza, but that will be 40mil transfer not some shitty loan that Inter can offer.
