yeap, Repubblica is saying Acerbi would be the low cost defender, especially if Milenkovic does not come.... Like i said before, for a Rano replacement, Acerbi is just fine, probably even an improvement over Rano.

I laughed through despair. We were on the verge of signing Bremer and even a hint of Milenkovic was repulsive in that moment and now we are considering a back up if we fail to sign him  :palm::cry:

Yeah, Chelsea comes a little late to the party with this one. Earlier, Suning would have jumped at this like white on rice.

Mate - only the man upstairs can answer that.

And while you're at it, ask him what the fuck was the point of the platypus? It lays eggs, and has tits that can be milked. Shieeeeet can even make its own custard if it wanted!!! The world is a strange place

Because, unlike Dumfries and Gosens, he is a creator and he wasn't coming from a long term injury.

With our current wingbacks, we can't create from the wings.
I agree. I hadn't watched a ton of Kostic but I did watch all of Frankfurt's knockout games in their EL campaign. He is a leader on the ball with a killer left foot.

Everything I've seen of Gosens suggests to me he's a very direct system player who will excel at getting forward into good attacking positions. He'll get on the end of moves but he certainly doesn't seem to have that playmaking aspect to his game that Kostic has (and that Perisic developed over time.)

Perisic took advantage of both of these things. I think Gosens will go alright, but we'll definitely miss Perisic. If we could clone Barella on that side of the pitch next to Gosens, we'd compensate.

I think that we a have a problem (and have for ages) with individual brilliance in general... And I don't call Correa trying not to trip over himself with the ball 'brilliance'.

Yeah people talked about Inter getting much stronger than last season by bringing back Lukaku, but I don’t think so as we lost an important (underrated?) player in Perisic. He was our main creative force from the wing. Our current WBs can be decent but they are not Perisic level. Without playmaking ability, they are the support player type while Perisic could make things happen by himself.

We just need to change the way we play. And we will do that purely based on having Lukaku on the pitch. Opponents need to change too for the same reason.

The trifecta of Perišić-Hakan-Brozo was our main creative outlet. I wonder about the changes that will happen this season, I do hope Barella steps up.

Inter need to change the way they play. They Don’t have the Maicon’s, Perisic’s and Hakimi’s anymore so cannot rely on that, that probably mean no scudetto as good full backs has always been synonymous with Inter’s succes, that was the case in the 1960-70’s with Facchetti, in 1980’s with Brehme and Bergomi and Maicon in the 00’s and in out last scudetto with Hakimi and Perisic.

Perisic was also not getting any younger, his prime is probably behind him and there is no guarantee he could keep it up much longer, the man is 33 years old after all.

Agree. I cant see, if we continue playing this system, how our game can improve without fast and effective fullbacks(who is good in defending, great in attack) which we currently lack. We need prime Gosens and Dumfries, whole fkn season not few games, to expect something. Our flanks doesnt look great right now, they are not even good, just mediocre. We should try to get Kostić but rube also wants him so we can forget about him. I dont know what to except from Bellanova, didnt watch him tho.

He is a player that needs development, so don’t expect a miracle, he needs the right amount of mental support, training and time to develop into something and even then I’m sceptical if he ever be better then the Dumfrie’s etc. but then it’s hard pleasing us as we have had some really excellent at those positions in out history.

I agree the flanks doesn’t exactly convince me either, but what can Inter do with hardly any money laying around. But to be frankly that’s hardly the only part of the team that doesn’t convince me, the bench in particular certainly doesn’t. And I’m potentially worried about the defence, if we loose Skriniar we are literally screwed as the players we have isn’t even on half his level and having the talented 23year old Bastoni to be the leader down there don’t exactly give me any sort of comfort with the players he then have to pull up from their mediocrity.

Depressing, the first match of the league just around the corner, and we still don't have any reinforcement in defense

ok, so hes going to either Juve or West Ham

More good news
Pedulla says that Empoli will go after Rugani and after that Juve can take Milenkovic. lol
Not really bad for us if we don’t get Milenkovic, he ain’t really anything special. I actually would rather the club bothered to give some chance to out own if that is what we otherwise can get.

Assuming you had to pick a Dumfries replacement. Who would you want?

Udogie - Young exciting prospect, Italy youth team player, Serie A experience.

Kostic - Lethal left foot, one of the best assisters in Europe. Will be 30 this season.

Singo - The natural replacement in terms of position. Also very young at 21. Serie A experience.

I think Kostic would be my choice. Developing Singo at the same time as Bellanova would be difficult. Udogie is exciting but again a 19 year old and Inter very rarely mix well. When it’s crunch time are we really going to sub in Udogie and Asllani? Best to bring the player that Inzaghi will play and the one that can step in and improve the team immediately. We can focus on developing Asllani, Bellanova and maybe Carboni?
