The problem with Lukaku is that he has only thrived in a transition or counter based game, at Everton or Inter. He sucks in a more technical and possession based setup, and that's how we play under Inzaghi. We should not move away from it.

look, I'd rather have Lautaro - Dybala - Correa - Džeko for one more season and then get David or some player like that, then getting Lukaku right now. At first I was okay with bringing him for one season loan, but now I'm not so sure anymore. He seems mentally too fragile, I liked that he rarely got injured and his stellar penalty scoring, but he brings either shit with him as well and I'm not sure Inzaghi is the right player to make him the right player for his team

The thing with Lukaku is that I'd much prefer to keep all our key players first, then sign Bremer, Dybala and competent back ups for Broz, Hakan, Gosens, etc... and if we'd still have some money by then, we could start considering Lukaku.

Another fact for fans of the 'last 4 years', Lukaku has forced his way out of his clubs 3 times in the last 4 years

Can someone explain the overall structure -

Lets say a fee is compromised at 7.5M, how is the salary distributed amongst Chelsea or Inter? Does Lukaku salary get negotiated again with the incoming club (Inter)

Not sure of terms like Dry Loans and what this means in reality?

Inter will pay the reduced salary in exchange for a loan fee. That's how Chelsea will try to make some money. Dry loan is nothing closer on Lukaku's case, unfortunately:)

I don't understand the reasoning of being against Lukaku.

The guy has proven that he can deliver the title for us .
He has proven that he can dominate in Serie A . Yes he usually fails vs big teams/hard defenders but how many such teams are in serie A lol lets not kid ourselves. With Chielini gone even Juve doesn't have someone to defend Lukaku physically. The only i can think of is Bremer which maybe we will sign.
Even him not being fit for Inzaghis football is non-sense. He had Lukaku for couple of weeks last summer and said that was impressed by him and what he could give to the team. Inzaghi might seem in paper to demand more flair and more technical plays from his team than the typical counter attack play of Conte but as proven even from his time at Lazio he wants one striker to attack the space vertically and the other to roam around him so Lukaku can be the perfect Immobile even though without the same finishing skill.
Some of you say that he asked to leave. Yes he did so what ? We got a shit load of money from his sale and now we are getting him back on cheap. He was never a problem within the club during the season and used the summer transfer period to ask to leave , nothing wrong with that if you ask me.

I don't love Lukaku , nor do i say that is definitively better than Dybala but for sure there is no proof at all that he is worse , if anything there are more assurances in knowing what you get when signing Lukaku than when signing Dybala.

I refuse to get excited about this and I really hope a dry loan is the only thing being considered here.

But Jesus Christ, bringing in Lukaku instead of the corpse of Dzeko or Correa, who has the muscle structure of my 87 year old Grandfather, is an unfathomable upgrade.

I voted for Lukaku on a cheap loan. I don't mind him back as long as he performs and someone from defense is not sacrificed for him. Can he perform with Inzaghi as with Conte? Maybe. For me it's mostly economics and fluidity up front with Lautaro and Dybala. If it works out, great. But if it does not, that's another story.

Nobody is saying Lukaku wouldn't be an upgrade to Džeko. But I'd rather save the money for his loan and buy a younger striker next summer.

There's no such thing as saving money now to spend them next summer. Anything we save now goes to cover losses of the next fiscal year. We saw it with money from Lukaku sale. We used only a small part of them last summer and now we are back to needing 60m profit from mercato.

Exactly. We are loosing money every season apparently and we have no way to fix this other than getting loans and selling players.

Sure, that unused money would probably go there or maybe we would sell less players this summer instead so that money is not even there. I'm just thinking that we should look to the future to build some more or are we that hungry for title no.20 that we shouldn't care about the future?

Well at least Lautaro is young.

Belgium? It’s not like he doesn’t score there.
Internationals is a different ball game. We can debate a whole lot about the tactics, strengths of teams, teammates, etc. It's just a different game.
