He wouldn't sit on the bench, he'd compete with Onana. It's not like Onana earned that spot yet.

Neto :yao:

Fucken 10 years ago he was a vaguely promising talent at Fiorentina who threw his career away to be a bench keeper at juve and has since never amounted to anything more.

Handa need to take massive paycut to stay at Inter. We can’t pay starter wages for backup keeper.

Onana seems to be really good and I think we will be fine if we get Cragno or Di Gregorio as a back up. Both seems to be solid to be our backup keeper.

Yann Sommer is willing to move to Bayern Munich

Yann Sommer is open to a move to Bayern Munich, according to Süddeutsche Zeitung.

As per the report, the Borussia Mönchengladbach goalkeeper could see his career continuing in Munich. The newspaper explains that during a conversation before the turn of the year Sommer “signalled to his employer that he would like to switch to FC Bayern at short notice.”

With six months remaining of his contract, it’s reported that Gladbach would be willing to let Sommer go under two conditions. These are that they received €5m in transfer fees and that a suitable replacement has been found.

Two names have been mentioned as per Sommer’s replacement. These are Australian number one Mathew Ryan from FC Copenhagen and Yvon Mvogo from FC Lorient.

The newspaper also states that Bayern would like clarity on the matter by January 6th at the latest.

In Germany they have reported he has already agreed terms with Bayern. It really depends on Gladbach finding a replacement.

I read Gladbach DS said they won't move him. But maybe it was just talk and they are indeed just looking for the replacement and don't want to be seen as desperate.

I wonder who our next starter will be, because I don't see Onana being it for more than the next season at best.

Vicario? Too bad there's no links, he's been linked to Juve and Fiorentina if I remember correctly.

Kid is talented but cannot tell if he has what it takes for the next step.

Just remember that there's so many goalkeepers who can be very good on certain days, but we're looking for one who's going to be consistently great.

I can list several names that were supposed to be great goalkeepers, just within Serie A and lots of them were hyped around this place and people wanted us to swoop in.
Just for the sake of it, here are a few on top of my head that people on FIF wanted to be the heir of Handanovic and not even just in the past 1-2 years but even when he was in his prime:
Mattia Perin
Alban Lafont
Simone Scuffet
Alessio Cragno
Emil Audero

And none of these are at the top level anywhere.
