Those numbers say nothing to me. I’ve watched him more than once past season. He was always a liability.

Then again, most probably we never have to experience that as he is our second gk. And he comes for free so we have more money available for our striker and rcb.
I am sure that the games one happened to watch has a huge effect on one’s opinion on him. Big picture is that he was comfortably the best player of this sorry team.

As mentioned, he managed to be the best player on the pitch in 20% of the games he played.

Yes. He had also bad nights. In this regard the goalkeeper he reminds me the most in Serie A last season is… certain Andre Onana.

Audero is a guy who was an under 21 international and costed 20m at 22. There is zero doubt about his pure talent. Super safe deal. If he gets his confidence and head straight, we just got a great deal, if not. Oh well.

Glad the GK issue has been resolved in one day. Off for a new RCB and hopefully two new forwards now.

Audero has been crap for years. Never bought into the hype, either.

Marotta going for the easy way out here and once again goes for familiarity, but I fear that our Coppa Italia chances are diminishing because whilst Audero can pull off a great save here and there, he's more bound to fuck up games than any other starting GK in Serie A in the past 10 years.

I can genuinely say that I have seen really good games from him. It’s not the whole picture, I get it. But the ability is there and he is still young for a GK. Concentration and confidence kind of issues mostly, I guess.

I kind of like the combo of old and reliable keeper and young gun who is a bit of a wildcard. Let’s see how it goes.

Trubin will most likely sell for 40-60m in a few years, so they can end with a sale in the 25-35m that is potentially a rather amazing deal. The only thing that can stop it is if he refuses, if so he can still come next summer.

Yes sommer and Audero aren’t exactly sexy, but it’s passable for a short period until something more rational comes along or Stankovic develops into something we can use.

I guess what I like about Audero is that he at least has the potential to be very good. Signing a reliable bang average keeper would have not had any chance of making us actually stronger.

Who knows, maybe Sommer can help him grow as a person and he will become the keeper he had the potential to be.

The problem is that he probably lack the right mental cocktail, half of what makes a player great is what happens up in the head, especially true for goalkeepers.

So I always been sceptical about him, talent might be there but I have my reservations if he mentally has a the right combination for a top 4 team.

I don’t disagree at all. Fortunately there is low risk in finding out.

Why can’t we hope that Audero does a Szczesny here. About the the same age Szczesny came to Juve.

Audero have experience in Serie-A and get him for 7 million with loan option buy is good deal. He is backup keeper not starting. He is an upgrade from Radu and aging Handanovic.

Like @vasilios said. As long as it’s not a bullshit gentlemen’s agreement option this is a fine deal. If he performs great, we have a really strong second goalkeeper. If he doesn’t we get to go back into the market next year and look for a long term successor to Sommer. Someone management likes like Bento may be available then.

Audero is undewhelming but fine, whatever. We need to focus on RCB and a real FW.

No he doesn’t. It’s just like Brehme said. Audero can pull a world class save out of nowhere and have a fuck up the next minute what cost you the game. He isn’t a realible goalkeeper for the last years for any Serie A side.

But that’s kinda okey because he is our backup. He’s not shittier than Radu for example. Not better too.
