No he doesn’t. It’s just like Brehme said. Audero can pull a world class save out of nowhere and have a fuck up the next minute what cost you the game. He isn’t a realible goalkeeper for the last years for any Serie A side.

But that’s kinda okey because he is our backup. He’s not shittier than Radu for example. Not better too.

So, a goalkeeper whose main weakness is making mistakes doesn’t have potential to be good? Is this what you are saying?

No that’s not what I’m saying. But it’s also not like every 26 GK has potential to be a GK of Inter is it? Radu was a great prospect too. Had great ballplaying skills and good relfexes. Hell even Di Gennaro had potential. Some just doesn’t fulfill it. Reached their ceiling early. Or just aren’t as good as people thought they would be.

You are obviously right. My point is that he doesn’t lack ability, but is currently prone to errors. That’s something that can be improved upon. Confidence, mental coaching etc.

I am fully aware that stats aren’t everything, claiming otherwise would be silly. Bit it is equally silly to claim that they mean nothing at all.

Last season he was better in Serie A than Onana, according to metric like whoscored average rating. Five man of the match performances in 25 games is also something no other keeper even came close.

None of us can watch every game and the games we happen to see has an inordinate effect on our impression of the player. Thus stats can be useful for the bigger picture and another perspective.

I agree with everyone that he is a gamble. But in my opinion he is a good gamble. That’s my view in a nutshell, I guess.

Chill bros. I dont like Audero that much either but let's be fair. 26yo for a keeper is like ~23yo for other positions and he could still improve.

There are ones like Donna shining at 17 but never grows a bit since then. There are ones whom nobody cares at 26 and sold for 55m a year later. Have you watched Onana blunder highlights before Inter? Tons, like a ticking bomb.

Now that Audero is on loan + cheap option + cheap salary ie basically risk free, lets hope the best for him. At least better than having no thread

Chill bros is right on.

The GK has turned into an effective salvage operation because Sommer is actually very good (although old) but can give us 2 solid years and audero is there in case anything bad happens to Sommer but we have no obligation to keep him.

As some mentioned, Bayern thought Sommer was good enough to get and they knew he would be starting for a long time with neuer injured.

He was shaky in his first game for us, but then again it was classic Inzaghi defence meaning it was nowhere to be found.

He will certainly be linked with a return to Serie A. I don't know about Inter though. It will really depend on our intentions for Audero.
