would you have given up Pavard for Trubin?

I think we could have potentially budgeted better. I’m 90% sure we could have closed Trubin for 18-20mil. That’s basically an Arnautovic and a Sommer. Yes Sommer has been great, but he has 1 more season as our No. 1 tops. Of course then you have the problem of needing a striker, but you could definitely argue that we could have just ponied up the cash and gotten a good deal in the long run. We will never get him now with the crazy sell on clause.

I think it's easier to find a proper goalkeeper rather than a proper player like Pavard whom suits perfectly in your scheme.

For now there is no reason, do not blindly trust to our goalkeeper scouting team.

This. We had enough for Lukaku, and Pavard is not as expensive as the Belgium.

Their difference (+Sommer) is enough for Trubin. Yes we might end up a bit (-)balance but need not to spend any on GK ten years to come.

There is no reason whatsoever not to blindly trust this management. They have proven for years that they know better than the fans.

Well I do hope the trend of finding proper goalkeepers continues at Inter, you make it sound so easy :)

I think you didn't entirely get my point. Of course it's not easy to find proper players depending on your scheme / tactical system but in this case someone like Pavard would be more difficult to find because he's suited to our scheme, meanwhile Sommer might have different characteristics to Onana, but he's still very impactful and has done quite well because our defence as a whole is solid as rock.

Both signings were adequate and also they bring quality in our team though.

In all honesty, we are so lucky that Pavard's situation suited to Inter because he wanted to leave Bayern and saw Inter as an exciting destination. It doesn't happen that often that such a player is attracted to Inter, on his prime whilst being a world class level.

Inter reach verbal agreement for Bento – report

Reports suggest that Inter have agreed a price with Athletico Paranaense for goalkeeper Bento ahead of next summer.

The Nerazzurri sold Andre Onana to Manchester United in the summer for around €55m and brought in veteran Yann Sommer as his short-term replacement. Whilst the Swiss goalkeeper has done well, he’ll turn 35 next month, pushing the club to start considering their long-term prospects.

In the summer, Inter openly stated their interest in Bento and sent in an offer for the 24-year-old. At the time, Athletico Paranaense decided to reject the proposal, but they appreciated the Italian side’s conduct and talks between the parties didn’t stop as the season started.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Inter have now agreed a pre-emption right with Athletico Paranaense for Bento, on the basis of a deal worth around €15m. They have until a specified date in the summer to confirm if they’d like to formalise the offer or not.

The 24-year-old goalkeeper has already admitted that playing for the club is ‘his dream’, so the ball is now in the Nerazzurri’s court.
With Trubin gone, the directors have paved the way for the future.

I won't be surprised if Onana is available for the similar amount in the summer.

Big if true. Dude looks promising.

And we should pass. We made the deal of the century and should leave it at that.

Tbh Onana back at any price would be suicide atm. I think his confidence will be shattered. I have no doubt that he could get good again at Inter but I don't think he'll ever be as good as he was for us, and I don't want him to need time to rebuild confidence at Inter. We just can't afford it. It's really gutting because id love to have him back, but if he left United and took a year or two at a smaller club then could come back id be potentially interested.

Onana was like summer's flirt. Amazing short period of time with lovely memories for the whole life and a new start would ruin those memories.

Don't be sad that it's over, be happy that it happened. 😂

While getting Vicario would've saved us from that problem. Oh well
