Agreed fully, also on the Samardzic part.It’s true and a valid point that Colpani doesn’t really have a natural position in this squad, but he does have qualities we need in a player— mainly having pace and being able to dribble at defenders. The only players we have like that are Thuram and maybe Cuadrado (lol). I think he’s basically our plan B to Samardzic. Samardzic didn’t have a natural role in our formation but we still wanted him. Colpani has the added benefit of being tall, strong, and an Italian playing for a serie A club. Plus it would be easier to pull off because of our relationship with Monza. My guess is that we would want to deploy him as some sort of hybrid support striker/ attacking midfielder, similar to what we attempt (and mostly fail) to do with Sanchez.
