I don't think Hermoso would be happy with a backup role. And that's my issue with this transfer. I don't want to see Bastoni moved to the middle to fit Hermoso in the starting lineup. He would be wasted there.

Anyway, around 3m would be reasonable for his expected role, but as a free agent, he could ask for more.

Imagine having Bastoni as lwb and hermoso as lcb down the left flank terrorizing the opponents when dimarco is injured or gassed out after 60 mins.

One would think the club would not pay someone 5M/year to sit on the bench. But then again, they do pay De Vrij around 4 - 4.5M/year to sit on the bench

If the Arabs cough up 12M, De Vrij is sold for pure profit. Then surely 5M can be made available for Hermoso salary.

Hermoso would compete with Acerbi for the starting spot - and we all know how this will end.

Hermoso is not central CB, he's LCB or LB. I also don't see Inter paying (Oaktree accepting) some 5m net for this guy unless there's Growth Decree magically available again, and to be frank, maybe not even then.

Maybe not but he’s got to be aware of the situation if he agrees to sign. Let’s also be fair, if he was a star he wouldn’t be leaving Atletico on a free without a lot more interest from top clubs.
