Top priority should be a centrol defender to replace Acerbi and De Virj.
Nah; next season. We still have Acerbi and De Vrij with Bastoni and Bisseck able to fill in if necessary. When Acerbi most certainly leaves next summer, then yes definitely. That’s when we should invest in our carefully chosen replacement, hopefully to understudy DeVrij.

Right now I’m desperate for a player who can dribble and run in behind on the wings to the point where the opposing team has to worry about it— a Hakimi if you will, even though we’re probably not finding one of those unfortunately. Dumfries can get in behind, but can’t dribble for shit. Buchanan, although raw, was the only player we had who would actually give a tired defender something to worry about. We need to replace this imo.

Erm..Acerbi is too old already and catch injury all the time. Sorry I don't trust Bastoni in such crucial position.

It’s De Vrij, Bisseck and then Bastoni I don’t think Inzaghi move Bastoni into the middle as long as he has another choice

it has always been and always will be about how much money we can save. This is the american way.

anyway, its a Buchanan replacement, so don't really care... Hermoso would just push Bastoni to play in the middle, which is a big no.

This guy is not so bad as a short term solution. Actually, he is ok-ish transfer.

3 different scenarios.

Rodriguez: Simplest, cheapest and the most straightforward solution. Immediate stopgap for this season / half-season. He's out after this season (unless something unexpected happens). Would fill either LCB/LWB when needed, against smaller teams.

Hermoso: More expensive one, 3-year commitment, meaning he's taking someone's spot from the squad. Would be an expensive backup for Bastoni. Would help our left-side if he can go forward, as Bastoni usually is not playing full 90 mins.

Younger profile: No idea, no name, even position unclear so impossible to comment more

It feels disingenuous to discuss this without mentioning the significance difference in quality of the players. One player is among the best in his position in Europe. The other is a poor defender with a good left foot.

Based on the rare occasions I watched Rodriguez, I presume he is a lefty Darmian with a lesser quality. I don't really rate him because his offensive output is merely sideways or backward passes.

Ricardo Rodriguez would be a totally thrash signing. Pointless. The guy was a disaster at Milan and PSV. And no good at Torino these last years either. Klaassen type of transfer. A waste of money really.

We should not do these type of transfers anymore. You throw 2 mln away, while Zanotti for example can offer you the same for 3/4 months.

But from the moment we got linked to this guy, we should have known he was the one we would get in the end.

No offense, but this is where people live in illusion. He can't offer you the same, no matter how much people dis rodriguez and hype up zanotti. They don't even play in the same position and even if they did, experience on a certain level is a much more valuable asset than some people think...

Bold part is why RicRod name shouldn't be brought in the first place.
For the LWB and LCB position we have more than enough options (Dimarco, Augusto, Bastoni, Bisseck, even Acerbi). Basically all names from last year are available.
For the RWB and RCB position Cuadrado and Buchanan are out.

"Experience on a certain level" is a nice reason to slam the door on basically every unknown gem, even Bisseck last year. But it is subjective and overrated. Klaassen brings nothing more than Asllani despite all the experience. Be brave for once, Zanotti is already a starter at Gallen and suits more to where we lack.

If Rodriguez post is what the club needs,
Hermoso is clear above R. Rodriguez in terms of experience. Big club mentality, a lot of European competition caps, and solid performer every season. That guy is absolutely what Inter need. Spanish player is also very understanding in terms of tactical and technique.

No we don't, buchanan was played in lwb, and it's clear from the management and inzaghi what type of player we want. Ausilio even said it explicitly: left defensive winger.
