Hermoso COULD have been an option, but for Oaktree he wasn't an option in the summer, so not an option now either.

Biraghi makes a lot less than Hermoso so I can see that happening. I think the issue here is management doesn't want to do long-term business in January because the prices aren't right. So only 6-month loans (within Oaktree parameters) which it limits the options quite a lot.

Not getting a CB is an interesting risk we seem to be willing to take.

Biraghi, Zalewski.. such rumours kick my Inter Milan fan’s soul. The level of these guys is any Empoli or Verona

Imo we are talking about the third choice lwb (after Dimarco and Augusto) and the third or even fourth choice cb (after Bastoni, Augusto and probably Bisseck). And for those positions we already have 3 absolute topplayers with Bastoni, Dimarco and Carlos.

It wouldn’t make a lot of sense to spend a lot of money there. As we could use the money more wisely. It wouldn’t make a lot of sense to buy someone young given te lack of minutes he will get. Also Palacios will return in the summer.

Three options here imo; a low cost veteran who who’s okay playing little minutes on a 6 months loan(Biraghi). A player who’s versilitate en we could use for multiple positions (Zalewski). Or someone out of our academy (but I don’t know if we have someone promosing for those positions).

Yeah, plus he's a homegrown player and Italian, which is a big plus for a championship bid.

If only Davide Santon hadn't retired. :D

What is Nagatomo doing these days?

Still playing for both club and national team, not joking if we need a back up playing 15 20 mins he can do better job than Buchanan 😂

Ah considering Japanese low birth rate problem, he’s very productive 😆

Really embarrassing shit if you think about it. We are asking him to sign a new deal just so we can sign him on loan, meanwhile marseille is actually willing to spend whatever his 6 month contract costs (around 4-5 mil if I read it correctly)

I'm not over the moon with zalewski as well, but we should stick to biraghi than if we are this poor, coz that's our level of ability right now. Fuckin pathetic...

Well judging by how we pinched pennies in previous mercatos I think it's definitely us being poor first and then everything else.

With all our recent success domestically and in europe, if you don't have 5 mills to spend on a player, whether he represents a quick fix or not, that's a major failure of some kind whether we like to admit it or not.

Well penny-pinching is the default, yes.

But still, we want a stop-gap for 6 months. Probably because the January market is just too expensive (yes, penny-pinching) but also the available player pool is simply so much more narrower than between the seasons in the summer.
