I am shocked that there is not one young italian CCB available, there was defenders coming up from everywhere like weeds 15 yrs ago.
What I wouldnt give for a Chiellini, Favalli, Costacurta, Gentile, Bergomi, Cannavaro, Nesta, Baresi, Maldini.

We chose Palacios instead , who is rotting on Monza's bench.

Best Overall PosterHe prioritized playing time over prestige. And you know what? It was a great decision for his career. Selfishly we wanted him to come to Inter but what he needed was a development year at a smaller club.

He's 1.93m tall so I guess he plays in the middle? Can someone confirm?Leoni continues to impress in the final games of the season, even a €15m bid might not be enough to secure his services.
Tuttosport adds that Inter are also keeping tabs on the Italian starlet, while his recent form has also attracted interest from several Premier League and La Liga clubs.

Never watched this Leoni guy but if he's italian and half decent I'd guess he'll be going for more than 15 million.
An experienced CB in Leukema / Lucumi / Gila along with a younger backer up like Leoni, add in Luis Henrique for RWB and we can move on Acerbi, De Vrij and Darmian. We would almost be set apart from who is going to be vice-Bastoni.

Leoni started popping off since Chivu joined. Remember he scored a header too. Not a bad player but still early to tell.
I'm pretty certain I still don't want to move on from Acerbi.
He'll be missed and has been a surprisingly good signing, but when he goes he will go big time at his age - and he has been injured a fair bit this season.

FIF Special OnesWe should've moved on from him in summer '24. Let's stop depending on oldies like younger players can't defend... I'm sure if (a healthy) Bremer was playing in the semifinal for Inter right now, we wouldn't be thinking about how we should just continue playing Acerbi in the first 11I'm pretty certain I still don't want to move on from Acerbi.

Nicest PosterAgree, in a way. Inter have other more pressing issues: forwards, midfielders and " a wing back". Since Acerbi and De Vrij are hee for another year it will be top priority next year. Playing Bisseck in the central and give Palacios a run during the money grab tournament in the US is important imho.

10 years of FIFFIF Special OnesNah. It should be a priority. As soon as Acerbi or De Vrij get injured, we are royally fucked. Last season we had less games, so it was easier for De Vrij and Acerbi to play dominant, effective defence.
This season both keep getting injuries or fatigue issues, it's finally time to find a longterm replacement.
Other positions are important too, but we can't miss out on a CB for the third summer in a row. I'd rather have one of our "kids" as the fourth/fifth striker and buy a CB like Gila than bring two new strikers for our bench and not touch our CB spot.

10 years of FIFWe send Acerbi packing last summer and we wouldn't be here where we are now. Younger players can defend but I just listed earlier Acerbi's qualities, which are extremely hard to have in one package when it comes to younger defenders.
And no, I don't have a good answer to the question what should we do this summer when it comes to the defence.
