I think we shall go after Zirgzee on loan, of course. Man U will want to get rid of him, and with Mota being on the verge of leaving, I doubt that Jube are still interested in him.
Now both of Lautaro and Thuram can play as main striker so for me Zirgzee could very well as SS in our system.

Lookman is also on his way out apparently, but he will be quite expensive

Valhovic's salary is insane. This is one of the reasons why Jube want to sell him, because he doesn't want to renew on a lower salary, and he gets around 12.mln net right now as far as remember.

Yes this pair has the highest quality. But most expensive too.
I would choose Paz only + a younger Acerbi.
PS: As the current rumours, both targeting attackers are from Real: Paz & Gueler:
I'm not counting a younger Acerbi in this equation, because that will happen regardless of the two forwards incoming. Two forwards MUST come, just like a new CB.

This is why I hope we focus on selling Frattesi, getting rid of Taremi and Correa, and then keeping Arnautović as the fifth choice, one of the Esposito brothers back, a third choice striker (I want either David or Krstović) and a player like Paz for the Mkhitaryan role, Acerbi maybe leaving and a new CB incoming. That might be enough for this summer alone, since Sučić is already coming for the midfield. Mikhtaryan stays for one more year, Barella, Hakan, Asllani, Zielinski, Sučić and a player like Paz would make us STACKED in midfield.

Zirkzee I would go for only if we somehow sold Lautaro. With selling of Lautaro, you can get Castro/Krstović, Zirkzee and Paz.

SiamoNoi is right, Liverpool will go for wingers/strikers, since Salah is probably leaving (or maybe leaving in a year, but they would still actively look for his replacement now), Chiesa is probably not staying and Darwin Nunez is actively looking to go somewhere else. Which would mean that Liverpool might go for Zirkzee too.

If top 4 club isn't signing David, I doubt they can pay his salary demand. Also the agent is asking like 10M on top (signing bonus+fee for him).

Is it Arsenal then who would target him? United have forwards, City don't use such forwards (and there's Haaland), Chelsea have strikers? Liverpool have strikers?
None of United's forwards have worked out. But sure David will want to join a club with no European football.

First priority for a new striker needs to be someone with a physical presence, what Lukaku and Dzeko were, a forward who can hold up the ball and be a genuine aerial threat for crossing. Despite being 6ft 4" that's really not Zirkzee.

Apart from the obvious that Utd prob wouldnt sell to a direct rival he's nowhere near good enough for them. Especially for a side that relies so much on intensity. He's too slow, in his head and feet.

Why? I think that we need someone who can unlock the defense. Zirgzee is that kind of player as he can be at his man and thus break the defensive setup .

Man Utd is a historic rival they are very very far from a direct rival currently.

I get the sense that reshaping the midfield with a player like Paz is their attempt to add more of that creativity in central areas.

All purchases are linked together. Spending much on striker then we must aim for a low-tier CB and vice versa. That's ~50m already. Unless you are suggesting selling another starter, which I am against.

So I skew more for a quality CB than a quality striker. Because one is rotation and latter gonna be a starter. A new Acerbi is not an easy task by any means.

Sure, all transfers are linked together, that is why the management is going to have a set highest price they would be willing to pay for a CB and will 'set that amount aside for that purchase', maybe it will be even the first transfer we try to make

Seeing how it's going to be at least two new strikers incoming, I also think we won't overspend there but will take a cheaper path. Like bringing one of the Esposito brothers and maybe David. I do want Krstović here too, instead of Arnautović

spot on, we create a million chances so what we're missing is a proper target man that cares nothing other than putting the ball in the back of the net

If you had to choose two in this group of Paz (added here because he can play in attack like Sanchez), David, Krstović, Castro or Kean - what would be cheap enough but worth it?

Probably David + Krstović
David on a free is an enticing option and we should try if the wages make sense, but Paz and Castro is a wet dream of mine. It would be such a welcome rejuvenation. Plus Asado Clan would be truly back in earnest 😎 We will need to replace Correa’s immense grilling contribution.

Not sure Lucca did himself any favours with his childish tantrum around that penalty recently. This Inter team is full of low-ego professionals and that's a quality we should always seek in new signings.

Personally I think we can get away with one good striker signing (assuming we keep Thuram and Lautaro) and Castro fits the profile more than David, even though David is obviously a better player currently. David would expect to be a starter whereas Castro would be happy coming off the bench and doing enough to prove himself in the longer term before he would expect to be a first-choice. Bring back Pia Esposito to be fourth striker and Taremi (as we will struggle to get rid of him) as fifth option.

In my view neither Lautaro nor Thuram reaches the "indispensable" aura like e.g. Ibrahimovic. Atm they must play every match because our 3rd striker is too far away from them in quality.

David, if coming, could easily get minutes whenever Thuram or Lautaro are struggling to get goals at anytime in a match. Or even start when either of them is hitting their off-period, which happens quite often for Lautaro. Not to mention injury/suspension.

Safe to assume that David could play every matches. Minutes won't be an issue here.

if we can get Gudmundsonn and Zirkzee on loan that would be a good summer mercato for me. both are impressive in their previous clubs. and dont forget to bring Pio Esposito back.
