Sommer was labelled shit with the ball and look how that turned out.
There is also a difference between playing simple and being actually shit at kicking a ball.
Sommer was never with the ball. Only if you compared him to onana .
Donna is a lot worse then Sommer. Not comfortable at all with the ball at his feet.

Pedulla reports Inter could offer 7m plus bonuses to Donnarumma (he's asking for 12m from PSG to renew) but only on a free in 2026.
Reports from France claim Donnarumma and PSG close in on contract extension
RMC Sport claim that PSG are ‘optimistic’ about extending the 25-year-old contract after reopening discussions with his agents.
The Italy international was already informed that he would need to accept the club’s updated policy, which entails lower fixed salaries combined with a variable component tied to performance and the number of matches played.

When will Inter update contracts based on performances?

Donnarumma would really want to return to Italy to swallow the big salary drop - in the peak years of his career - that would be a biproduct of leaving PSG. I suppose Inter would have an advantage in terms of need with Napoli having Meret and Juventus investing recently in Di Gregorio, but while he is a great traditional keeper, he's never been great with his feet.

I dont understand.

His primary job is to stop goals, and not by distributing/creating plays as a last man. The guy is a good keeper, and if that means a change in tactic so be it. We should not exclude him because of this fact.

Tactics must and will evolve depending on what talent is available. To have a goalkeeper that will likely be between the sticks for the next decade is not something you just say no too.

It makes sense what you are saying, but Inter's style of play is heavily dependent on a goalkeeper whom is good with the ball on his feet. I mean, someone who is following Inter (non-Inter fans, because Interisti already know this), will realize how crucial goalkeeper is to Inter's game. We tend to involve our gk a lot on ball possession and eventually switch sides, through passes in the middle or even long passes forward. These small details matter a lot in our game, and a goalkeeper like Donnarumma doesn't exactly fit, but an exception could be made (in case of a massive paycut) for gk of Gigio's calibre.

I mean, he's only 25 years old. If he's willing to evolve his game, pretty sure he could make a progress. Not saying he's gonna be Onana or Ederson, but definitely he could improve his ability with the ball on his feet.

No thanks. Too expensive. Too much baggage. Too leadfooted. It would be pretty funny that we allegedly targeted Martinez for his ball-playing ability and then signed fucking Donnarumma

He’s an elite keeper, sure. And especially incredible at saving penalties. I just don’t see the logic in terms of profile.

Depends of the salary, if he is willing to reduce it to something acceptable, I would like it. Milan fans will be fuming.
But, what we gonna do with Martinez? It is pointless to keep 15mln asset to rot on the bench?

TBH he is atrocious with his feet but he's probably the best shot stopper in the world alongside Allison. He's also probably the best GK on penalties I've ever seen. I would take him but highly doubt it would happen. He'll re up with PSG.

I like him too, he gives me Zangief vibes from Street Fighter  ...not sure if he is Inter quality though.

yeah Donnarumma can intimidate Milan and Juventus... if Inter wants to get Scudetto by beat Napoli, Milan, and Juventus, we should sign Donnmarumma asap.
