No even knew who Di Gregorio was prior to this season. Its hilarious how people are second guessing a management with decades of proven track record when it comes to goalkeeping choices.

Those same people did all the scouting but still spent 30m on an amateur like Correa. But we aren't allowed to criticize as fans are not paid to do their jobs?

Apparently, Athletico Paranaense's asking price for Bento has reached 40m according to the rumours, it's no surprise that we've pulled out.

That would indeed be a good explanation pulling out the race.

That being said it’s not the first time we are rumoured to be interested in a player over a longer period of time, while the price keeps rising en we eventually pulling out because the price is too high. Bremer comes to mind. But I’m quite sure there are a couple more examples.

What a simplistic view on scouting that Correa comment is. He was more than likely signed because Inzaghi vouched for him from his personal experience rather than necessarily because the scouting or data departments were pushing him.

As if we never have bad goalkeepers.
You don't remember coz goalie is an rarely changed position. And they are not good enough to even step on the field. Radu and Brazao say hello.

Not that I wanna blame them, overall still a good job; nobody has 100% success rate. But we are fans, watching football and visiting forum to judge those professionals work. Nothing is "hilarious" in showing our personal opinion.

Neither of those was ever even considered main goalkeeper. Obviously anyone can voice an opinion on a public forum. dont expect your opinion not to be judged by others though. Hilarious or otherwise.

Not sure I get what you mean. At which team a so-called "flop" can be the main goalkeeper?

The fact is that the amount we spent on them is more than Martinez, but still flops, so this deal is far from a guarantee.

Dont see why we are spending on a GK this summer when Sommer is still a peak GK. I get preparing for down the road but if the right goalie isnt there why force it? We won the league with an absolutely toasted Handanovic. I'd rather keep that money and spend it on a RWB or rotational striker. Look for a GK next offseason. My only assumption is Sommer has told them he's not playing much longer and thats why we're looking.

20+m for a relatively unknown untested GK seems not a good use our limited budget only for that GK to eat bench for a season. How is Stanks kid doing on loan?

He will play coppa games and occasional Serie A games if Sommer is injured or sick. For the quoted price is not bad.

Interisting! Didn’t know Lunin’s contract was expiring in 2025. This guy showed he’s a great shotstopper. Not so good with his feet tho.

Wouldn’t surprise me we move for him if he’s out of contract in 2025.

Because we want to pay as less as possible, and now there's a chance for a deal with Genoa.
Next year, a goalkeeper will be a necessity, so they clubs will try to squeeze every penny out of Marotta's pocket.

Nah, Marotta never bluff. Whenever he says he wants or doesn't want a player, he really means it.

It's clear the management rate Josep, maybe not as much as Bento, but still enough to close the deal even before the market is open.
