I don't know where he would play here, so I wouldn't try to spend wages on him.

Also if some other club doesn't go for him now, why would they buy him from us later?

So it's a no.

De Jong deferred a lot of money during COVID to help alleviate Barcelona's financial situation. That's money that got pushed onto later years in his contract. He transfers, he not only forfeits his remaining Barcelona salary but I think he also forfeits those deferrals. And he has zero reason whatsoever to do that; he already did Barcelona one favor, he's not obliged to do them a second favor.

Yes, Barcelona have treated him really badly and have been trying to force him out for the past few years now, expecting he will walk away from his hugely back-ended contract now costing the club around 25m euros (similar to the one Lewandowski signed that's now paying him over 30m euros this season).

Ironically they're now desperate to get him to sign an extension so he doesn't walk away for free which is the route I would be going if I were him. Him and De Ligt looked such prospects but neither of them has kicked on at all since that Ajax season in 2019.

I see Milan making moves to sign Samuele Ricci from Torino for next season. He's a player I think that Inter should be interested in.

According to rumours whe are interested. But ATM he would be nothing more than a vice-Hakan (which we really need). Given the price I do think we only move for him if we sell Hakan this summer. Which isn’t a unrealistic scenario imo. Given the strategy of Oaktree.

I think the pair could coexist as I haven't written off Hakan being able to play as an 8 still too.

DM - Ricci / Hakan / Asslani
CML - Hakan / Zielinski / Miki
CMR - Barella / Zielinski

Barcelona are hilarious with their wages. Absolute clowns! 🤡
Unfortunately for him i bet when Frenkie De Jong finally realises he'll have to leave he'll end up somewhere like Arsenal when really he should be at a top-end club like Bayern or Real.

Get an aging Serie A veteran to backup Hakan. We do not need to sign some young up and comer and spend a ton. Just need someone who can come in and do a job. Asllani is a disaster vs any team who isn't fighting relegation. Regardless it's pretty funny we all thought we had an absolutely loaded midfield when in reality we play three midfielders at a time and only have four functioning midfielders. One of which is Mikhi who is practically 100 years old in athlete terms. Asllani and Fratessi provide little to nothing outside of the one or two things they're good at. Both need to go and we need to revolutionize the way we play. It would be nice to have a player who can actually create something on their own. Milan have like 4 of those players and Juve has Yildiz and Sergio's kid. Brahim used to cause us problems at Milan too. We fucking stink against ballers who can create chances out of thin air. We haven't had one of those players since god knows when. Nico Paz could potentially be this player but I have no belief in Inzaghi to get the best out of him.

DiMarco, Bastoni, Mkhi and Hakan are our playmakers! This shows the problem we have in attack. No dribblers (Tucu?), no pace (DiMarco?) and only Hakan is capable of a fantasy pass.
If we play 2 up top why cant we have an actual number 10?!

Wanted to mention him few months ago in Player suggestion topic, for me he's got a brighter future then Baturina. I'd say he's more of Barella type player then Brozovic, but early people compared him to Brozo because he too can run whole game without stopping.
