Rovella is very solid defensively and he is capable enough on the ball. What you want more for Hakan's back up? Another Xabi Alonso

My whole point is that he is overrated, not that I want another xabi alonso. We can probably find someone with similar set of skills for the lesser price than what would extortionist lotito demand.

Is he overrated or not depends on his price tag. I really have no clue how much Lotito could ask for him. But 20-25mln is a fair price I guess

When has Lotito ever been fair with his evaluations?

No chance he sells Rovella for less than 40m. Maybe he goes into full Lotito mode and asks for 60m.

Let's not forget about Tonali. As per reports he is pushing to come back to Italy, and his price tag will be around 50mln most probably, because nobody will pay more for him.

Rovella is turning into a fine player. You could see it coming through when he was on loan at Monza, but -

a. Could we afford him? Prob not.
b. Would he move to be Hakans back-up. Prob Not.
c. Surely Beppe will already have someone in mind.

Alternatively how about Inzaghi attempts some flexibility with his formations and tactics so we dont fall short when 1 player is missing???

In terms of attitude Tonali is no different from Gattuso or Ambrosini. Quality player but i don't want him anywhere near this club.

Ricci would have been a good buy from Empoli, but I don’t think spending big on him would be smart. He’s good but I don’t know if there’s a 40mil euro midfielder there. We need to target someone who can step in immediately. I think Ricci wouldn’t have a much easier time breaking into the team than Asllani is. Rovella is a more interesting name to me, but also improbable. Tonali comes with too much baggage. I can’t even imagine what would happen if he comes here and blows a derby.

Rovella has a contract with Juventus until June 2026. Unless he don't sign a new contract, I doubt we can get him. It would be easier to get Ricci than Rovella, at least in this upcoming summer.

I like both, but I think Ricci would be the better vice Hakan or new Hakan, if he would be sold.

With Ricci I fear that Milan has an upper hand since they can offer him a spot in the starting XI. We'd need to sell Hakan to do that. One interesting guy is Genoa's Frendrup. He's been with them since 2022 January. So around 2,5 seasons of Serie A and one season of Serie B, at the age of 23. Played massive amount of minutes for them. Those two full seasons he has played over 3k mins.

Hakan is probably the only starter that would be sold if a big enough offer came... Next to Thuram ofc. If I got to choose, I'd rather sell Hakan.

Even Hakan himself said that he is staying at Inter unless Marotta gets a good enough offer for him, that it's the clubs decision.

He is important for us, but our squad needs to be younger and deals like that would save us headaches in the long run
