Actually never. Marotta has always said in modern football there's no such thing as non transferable and everything depends on the will of the player.

Italy has been real shit for a long time. Unless we get starters on the NT I’d stay away unless it’s a CB or goalie. We have all the good Italian players at this point unless we can get the gk which would be hilarious

He won’t be available then, as Juve are in advance negotiations… So either you pay or accept he ends up in Juve.

Whether or not he is a good fit is another debate…

I disagree, Italy is always a top talent producer, of recent the selection has been under great scrutiny along with our tactics and so forth. ATM players like Ricci and Orsolini should be with the team but got cut, maybe even rovella, casadei, fabbian, bove and thats just midfield. The U21 U19 and U17 have all been very successful lately

Retegui is talented IMO and Italy were smart to get him

Always is definitely a stretch, there certainly been periods where Italy lacked talent, the current have a very small talent base.

Next gen look better, but doing well in U17, U19 don’t mean much if they don’t take the final step, it’s seen before that success there don’t necessarily translate to doing well on senior level.
