The best country at the sport right now and it’s not even a discussion. Starters on their Euro team that could play in Olympics or U19 Euro. Future is now.

All team sports have world cups. Heck, volleyball had three of those at a time
By the way Brehme-o, I said sports with a decent following

Let's just throw Rugby League in there and let the world bask in its warm glowing warming glow.

Badminton is very big in China and I imagine more surrounding countries in Asia.
And quite popular in some parts of Europe (to play at least).

Lacrosse I imagine it's the USA hyping it up. And some sprinkles of the Anglosphere. But there is a rise in interest in Europe as well, plus US influenced territories such as the Philippines, Japan and (South) Korea.

I guess by Brisbane 2032 they'll consider adding Padel as well.

How about 4x100 relay. US women kicked ass. The last runner even had a time to look over)

China tops the medal list with 37 gold medals. USA follows with 35 as of now.

12 golds in Athletics and 8 golds in Swimming for the USA
1 gold in Athletics and 2 golds in Swimming for China

You do wonder if 1 gold medal = 1 gold medal.

Swimmers can compete in a ton of events, fighters (wrestling, taekwondo, judo, boxing) can only compete in one. Track athletes can compete in 2-3..

I just think we need to place an asterisk on these medal tables.

Sorry, Chinese could do better with athletics and swimming. Each gold should be count.

I see you don't live in a country where they show every god damn stage of the tour de france, tour de swiss and a big part of the giro d italia in full length on National TV.....

Meh 50/50 i would say at least in europe.
Oh I live 20 meters away from Pogačar, trust and believe every cycling event is on tv. Luckily, I don't even watch tv so I don't have to.

I fail to see why some people prefer cycling on tv to volleyball or tennis. It's almost as dull as Nascar racing, just with better scenery.
